EDGING … With right side facing, attach thread to corner of one short side for top, 2 sc in corner sp, sc in each dc and 2 sc in each sp across top, ending with 2 sc in corner sp, ch 5. Working across side edge, make * dc in next sp, (ch 3, dc in next sp) twice; (ch 3, skip 3 dc, dc in next dc) twice; (ch 3, dc in next sp) 6 times; ch 3, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc, ch 3, skip 3 dc, dc in next dc, (ch 3, dc in next sp) 4 times; dc in next sp, ch 3. Repeat from * across remaining 3 sides, making dc, ch 3 and dc in each corner.

FRINGE … Cut 8 strands of thread each 10 inches long. Double the ends to form a loop, draw loop through any space on edging, draw ends through loop, pull up tight. Make a similar fringe in each space around.
