Technicolor Bag Pattern

Materials:
HIAWATHA Super Crepe Corde Art. 42, 4 tubes (2 tubes of main color and 1 tube of each of two con­trasting colors) or
HIAWATHA Super Twist Rayon Cord Art. 41, 4 tubes (2 tubes of main color and 1 tube of each of two contrasting colors)
Steel crochet hook No. 0, or bone crochet hook No. 3
2-6" TALON Slide Fasteners Style 148 (available at all notion counters)
HIAWATHA Lining Material and Buckram Art. H-113
HIAWATHA Lucite Clasp No. 6247

Starting at one end, using main color make a chain 19" long.
1st row—Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 3, turn.
2nd row—Dc in each dc and in top of turning ch. Drop main color.
3rd row—Attach 2nd color, ch 1, then work sc in each st across and in top of turn­ing ch. Drop 2nd color.
4th and 5th rows—Starting at same end where 3rd row was started, pick up main color and work 2 rows of sc. Drop main color.
6th row—Starting where 2nd color was dropped at end of 3rd row, pick up 2nd color, ch 1, and work sc in each st across. Drop 2nd color.
7th and 8th rows—Attach 3rd color, ch 3, then work 2 rows of dc. Drop 3rd color.
9th and 10th rows—Work dc in main color.
Starting with 3rd row repeat stripes until piece measures about 14", ending with 2 rows of dc in main color.

FINISHING
With main color work 3 rows of sc across the two short ends. Cut linings and inter­lining, following directions in kit H-113. Turn up 8" of crocheted piece and, using main color, work sc through both thick­nesses to join. Make outer lining and inter­lining, insert in crocheted bag, then attach clasp. Make inner lining (with 2 slide fas­teners), then sew all linings into place.
