SIDES (Make 2)
Starting at center of diamond, ch 5. Join with sl st to form a ring.
1st rnd—Ch 3, 3 dc in ring, * ch 2, 4 dc in ring. Repeat from * 2 more times, ch 2, join with sl st to top of starting ch-3. Turn.
2nd rnd—Sl st in space, ch 3, 3 dc in same space, ch 2, 4 dc in same space, * ch 1, in next space work 4 dc, ch 2 and 4 dc. Repeat from * around. Join last ch-1 with sl st to top of starting ch-3. Turn.
3rd rnd—Sl st in space, ch 3, 3 dc in same space, * ch 1, in corner space work 4 dc, ch 2 and 4 dc, ch 1, 4 dc in next space. Repeat from * around. Join and turn. Continue in this manner, working 4 dc with ch 1 be­tween groups in each space along each side, and 2 groups of 4 dc with ch 2 between in each corner, until diamond measures 6½” to 7" across (from point to point). Sl st to nearest corner.
Next row—Sc in corner space, sc in each dc and each ch-1 to next corner, in corner work 3 sc, then work sc in each dc and each ch-1 to following corner, in this corner work 1 sc, then ch 1, turn.
Following row—Work in back loop only of each st as follows: Skip 1 st, sc in each sc to corner, in corner st work 3 sc, then work sc in each st across to 2 sts from end of previous row, skip 1 st, work sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.
Next row—Same as previous row except working through both loops of each st. Ch 1, turn. Repeat the last 2 rows alter­nately (there should be the same number of sts on each row) until point measures 3 inches from diamond, then work along one side only decreasing 1 st at each end of every row until all sts are worked off. At­tach corde to other side of same sc piece and work other corner to correspond. Attach corde to other side of diamond and work in same manner, making 1st row of sc on wrong side of work.

FINISHING
Cut pattern of pieces. Sew crocheted pieces together, then work 1 inch of sc around top of bag, careful not to decrease.
Next row—Sc around, increasing 12 sts in rnd for cuff. Turn. Now work 1 rnd of sc in back loop only, and 1 rnd in both loops, alternately, for 1¼". Fasten off.
Make lining (with slide fastener), insert in bag and sew into place. Make a 2" chain and attach pull to slide fastener tab.
