With wrong side toward you, attach yarn and work 1 row of sc along other side of foundation chain. Ch 1, turn. Work 2nd side, starting with 1st row.
Work 1 row of sc along both side edges.

GUSSETS (Make 2)
Starting at the bottom, make a chain 4" long. Work sc across until row measures 3½". Ch 1, turn. Work even in sc until piece measures 2", then decrease 1 st at each end on next row and every 1" thereafter until only 2 sts remain. Work even until gusset is same length as sides of bag, then work 1 row of sc around gusset, working 3 sc in bottom corners. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Cut linings and interlining, following directions in kit H-113. Make bag lining (with slide fastener), inserting cardboards in gussets and bottom. Pin crocheted pieces in place on outside of lining. With sides of bag toward you, sl st gussets into place, working 3 sc in corners. Work 1 row of sc around top of bag. Sew lining in place, tacking at all seams. Sew on chain handle.
