   Starting at narrow end, ch 10. 1st row: In 10th ch from hook make 2 dc, ch 2 and 2 dc (shell made). Ch 7, turn. 2nd row: In sp of shell make 2 dc, ch 2 and 2 dc (shell made over shell); 9 tr in ch-10 loop. Ch 7, turn. 3rd row: (Tr in next tr, ch 1) 9 times; shell over shell. Ch 7, turn. 4th row: Shell over shell, ch 2, skip next sp, (sc in next sp, ch 2) 7 times; sc in next sp. Ch 7, turn. 5th row: 5 dc in first loop, drop loop from hook, insert hook in first dc of group, draw dropped loop through (pc st made); (ch 2, pc st in next loop) 6 times; ch 3, shell over shell. Ch 7, turn. 6th row: Shell over shell, ch 5, skip next sp, sc in next sp, (ch 2, sc in next sp) 5 times. Ch 7, turn. 7th row: Pc st in first loop, (ch 2, pc st in next loop) 4 times; ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 5, shell over shell. Ch 7, turn. 8th row: Shell over shell, ch 5, sc in next loop, sc in next sc, sc in next loop, ch 5, sc in next sp, (ch 2, sc in next sp) 3 times. Ch 7, turn. 9th row: Pc st in first loop, (ch 2, pc st in next loop) twice; ch 5, sc in next loop, sc in next 3 sc, sc in next loop, ch 5, shell over shell. Ch 7, turn. 10th row: Shell over shell, ch 5, sc in next loop, sc in next 5 sc, sc in next loop, ch 5, sc in next sp, ch 2, sc in next sp. Ch 7, turn. 11th row: Pc st in first loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 9, sc in next loop, ch 5, shell over shell. Ch 7, turn. 12th row: Shell over shell, 9 tr in next loop, sc in next loop. Ch 7, turn. Repeat 3rd to 12th rows incl until piece is length desired, ending with 10th row. Ch 7, turn. Next row: Pc st in first loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 9, sc in next loop. Break off.

HEADING … Attach thread to first ch-7 loop on opposite side, sc in same loop, * ch 6, sc in next loop. Repeat from * across. Break off.
   Starch edging lightly and press. Sew neatly to edge of towel.
