MATERIALS REQUIRED — American Thread Company Sillateen Sansil.

2 Balls White, Cream or Colors.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 9 or 10.
Glass Bon Bon Dish about 6 inches in diameter.

Ch 8, join and work 15 d c in ring, join.

2nd Row—Ch 5, skip 1 d c, d c between next 2 d c, * ch 2, d c between next 2 d c, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch 5. (15 meshes.)

3rd Row—Sl st into mesh, ch 3, 2 d c in same space, * ch 2, 3 d c in next mesh, re­peat from * all around, ch 2, join.

4th Row—Ch 5, skip 1 d c, d c in next d c, * ch 2, d c in next d c, ch 2, skip 1 d c, d c in next d c, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch 5.

5th Row—Sl st into mesh, * ch 5, thread over needle twice, insert needle in 1st ch and pull through, thread over, work off 2 loops twice, thread over needle twice, in­sert in same st, pull through, thread over, work off 2 loops twice, thread over, work off 3 loops, repeat from * skip 1 mesh, s c in next mesh, * ch 5, 2 tr c cluster sts in 1st ch, ch 5, 2 tr c cluster sts in 1st ch, skip 1 mesh s c in next mesh, repeat from * all around.

6th Row—Sl st to top of petal, * ch 5, 2 tr c cluster sts in 1st ch, ch 5, 2 tr c cluster sts in 1st ch, s c in top of next 2 petals, repeat from * all around.

7th Row—Sl st to top of petal, * ch 7, s c in top between next 2 petals, repeat from * all around.

8th Row—Ch 5, skip 1 st, 1 d c in next ch, * ch 2, skip 1 ch, 1 d c in next ch, re­peat from * all around, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch (60 meshes).

9th Row—Same as 5th row.

10th Row—Same as 6th row.

11th Row—Sl st to top of petal, * ch 8, s c in top between next 2 petals, repeat from * all around.

12th Row—Ch 5, skip 2 sts, d c in next st, * ch 2, skip 2 sts, d c in next st, repeat from * all around. (3 meshes between petals.)

13th Row—Sl st in next mesh, ch 3, d c in same space, * ch 1, 2 d c in next mesh, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join.

14th Row—Sl st into next 1 ch loop, * ch 5, 2 tr c cluster sts in 1st ch, ch 5, 2 tr c cluster sts in 1st ch, skip the next 2 d c, loop, 2 d c, loop, 2 d c, and s c in next loop, repeat from * all around.

15th Row—Same as 6th row.

16th Row—Same as 7th row.

17th Row—8 s c in each 7 ch loop.

18th Row—Ch 4, * 1 d c in next s c, ch 1, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join in 3rd st of ch 4.

19th Row—Sl st into 1 ch loop, ch 5, d c over next 1 ch loop, * ch 2, d c over next 1 ch loop, repeat from * all around, join.

20th Row—Sl st into 2 ch loop, * ch 3, s c in next loop, repeat from * all around, break thread.

For Stiffening. Take 3 tablespoons of sugar and 4 tablespoons of water, boil for about 2 minutes.

When it cools dip the work in syrup, place over dish, smoothing into shape, fold in the scallops and allow to dry.
