MATERIALS REQUIRED:
DAISY Mercerized Crochet Cotton, Art. 65, size 30:—22 skeins White; or
DAISY Mercerized Crochet Cotton, Art. 97, size 30:—31 balls White; or
Lily MERCROCHET Cotton, Art. 161, size 30:—37 balls White;
Sufficient for size 60 x 80 inches, makes 9 Panels wide with 12 patterns in each Panel.
Steel crochet hook No. 13.

GAUGE—With DAISY:—6 sps = 1 inch, 6 rows = 1 inch; with MERCROCHET:—7 sps = 1 inch; 7 rows = 1 inch.

ROSE PANEL—(Width—With DAISY:—6½ inches when blocked; with MERCROCHET:—5¾ inches)—ROW 1—Ch 126, dc in 9th ch from hook, (ch 2, sk 2 sts of long ch, dc in next ch) 13 times, dc in next 9 ch (3 blks made), ch 5, sk 5 ch, dc in next ch (1 long sp made), ch 3, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch, ch 3, sk 2 ch, dc in next ch (1 lacet st made), ch 5, sk 5 ch, dc in next ch, dc in next 9 ch, (ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in next ch) 14 times (14 sps made). Mark the right side of this row as the right side of Panel. ROW 2—Ch 5, turn, dc in next dc, 12 sps, 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc (1 blk made), 3 sps, 1 blk, 1 sp, ch 5, sk lacet st, dc in next dc (1 long sp made), 1 sp, 1 blk, 3 sps, 1 blk, 12 sps, ch 2, dc in 3d st of end sp. ROW 3—Ch 5, turn, dc in next dc, 12 sps, 1 blk, 4 sps, 1 blk, ch 3, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 3, dc in next dc, 1 blk, 4 sps, 1 blk, 13 sps. ROW 4—Ch 5, turn, dc in next dc, 13 sps, 1 blk, 3 sps, 1 blk, ch 5, dc in next dc, 1 blk, 3 sps, 1 blk, 14 sps. Continue, following Chart, thru Row 41. Then repeat Rows 2 thru 41 incl. 11 times (12 patterns long,—lengthwise of table), ending Panel at Row 38. NEXT ROW—Ch 5, turn, dc in next dc, 11 sps, 3 blks, (ch 5, dc in next dc) 5 times, 3 blks and 12 sps. Fasten off.

Make 9 Panels, then sew them tog. being careful to exactly match rows.

Edge—Working across starting ends of Panels, join to corner of cloth, ch 3, (3 dc, ch 5, 4 dc) all in same corner sp, (ch 5, sk 1 sp, 4 dc in next sp) 6 times, * ch 5, sk 1 sp, dc in next 4 dc, ch 5, sk 2 dc, dc in next 4 dc, ch 5, 4 dc in left half of next long sp, ch 5, sk 1 sp, 4 dc in next sp, ch 5, 4 dc in left half of next long sp, ch 5, sk 3 dc, dc in next 4 dc, ch 5, sk 3 dc, 4 dc in next sp, (ch 5, sk 1 sp, 4 dc in next sp) 13 times. Repeat from * across to corner. Make (4 dc, ch 5, 4 dc) in corner sp. (Ch 5, sk 1 sp, 4 dc in next sp) repeated to next corner, (4 dc, ch 5, 4 dc) in corner sp, (ch 5, sk 1 sp, 4 dc in next sp) 5 times, ** ch 5, sk 1 sp, dc in next 4 dc, ch 5, sk 2 dc, dc in next 4 dc, (ch 5, 4 dc in left half of next long sp) 5 times, ch 5, sk 3 dc, dc in next 4 dc, ch 5, sk 3 dc, 4 dc in next sp, (ch 5, sk 1 sp, 4 dc in next sp) 11 times. Repeat from ** across to corner. Make corner and work across next side as on opposite side. Join with ch 2, dc in top of 1st ch-3. ROW 2—(Ch 3, tr) 6 times in next (corner) sp, ch 3, sc in next sp, * ch 4, sc in next sp, (ch 3, tr) 4 times in next sp, ch 3, sc in next sp. Repeat from * around, with each corner shell like 1st one. Join. ROW 3—3 sc in 1st sp on next (corner) shell, (2 sc in next sp, ch 4, sl st in last sc for a p, 2 sc in same sp) 5 times, 3 sc in next sp, * (2 sc, a p, 2 sc) in ch-4 between shells, 3 sc in next sp, (2 sc, a p, 2 sc in next sp) 3 times, 3 sc in next sp. Repeat from * around, with each corner like 1st one. Join and fasten off.

Stretch and pin tablecloth right-side-down on curtain or quilting frames. Lay a section at a time over an ironing board or padded table. Steam and press dry thru a cloth. Repeat until entire cloth is blocked.
