Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, Size 30, or Clark's O.N.T. "Brilliant", 1 ball of White and 1 ball of color 26 Nile Green.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 7 or 8.

Neck Band: To begin, make a ch 42 inches long, turn. 1st row: S c in 3rd ch from hook, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, s c in next. Repeat from * along row, turn. 2nd and 3rd rows: * S c in next ch-1, ch 1, skip s c, repeat from *. Break off. Turn. 4th row: Attach white thread, ch 5 (to count as tr and ch 1), * skip s c, tr in next ch-1, ch 1, repeat from * along row. Break off. Turn. 5th row: Attach colored thread, ch 3, * skip tr, s c in next ch-1 sp, ch 1. Repeat from * along row. Turn. 6th and 7th rows: Ch 3, and repeat between *'s of 2nd row. Break thread. Collar: Find center of neck band. Measure off 8 inches on each side, and attach colored thread. 8th row: Ch 3, and repeat between *'s of 2nd row, making 5 increases in the row, placed at equal intervals. 9th and 10th rows: Same as 8th row. The 5 increases to the row should be equally divided, but not directly over increases of previous row. Break off. Turn. 11th row: Attach white, ch 5, and repeat between *s of 4th row, making 5 increases, evenly divided. Break off. Turn. 12th row: Attach colored thread, ch 3, and repeat between *'s of 5th row, making 5 increases evenly divided. Ch 3, turn. 13th and 14th rows: Same as 2nd row, with only 3 increases. Break thread. Turn. 15th row: Attach white, ch 5. Repeat between *'s of 4th row, making 5 increases in the row. Turn. 16th row: Ch 5, * tr in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, skip tr. Repeat from * along row, making 5 increases in the row. Break off, turn. 17th row: Attach colored thread, ch 3, repeat between *'s of 5th row, making 5 increases in the row. Ch 3, turn. 18th and 19th rows: Same as 2nd row, with 5 increases to the row. 20th row: Attach white, ch 5, and repeat between *'s of 4th row, with 5 increases. Turn. 21st and 22nd row: Same as 16th row. Break off. Turn. 23rd row: Attach colored thread, ch 3, and repeat between *'s of 5th row, making 5 increases in the row. Turn. 24th and 25th rows: Ch 3, and repeat between *'s of 2nd row, making 5 increases to the row. Finishing Row: Attach colored thread to front edge of collar. Make row of d c spaced evenly. In corner s c make 3 d c, and 2 d c in each of next 5 ch-1 sps, * ch 10, skip 5 s c, 2 d c in each of next 5 ch-1 sps, and repeat from * to end of row. Make 3 d c in corner s c, and finish front edge with d c.
