With Red make ch to measure 20 inches. 1st row: Tr in 5th ch from hook, 2 tr in same st, * skip 3 sts of ch, 4 tr in next st. Repeat from * to end of ch. Fasten thread and break off. 2nd row: Attach Linen to beginning of row in sp between 1st and 2nd groups of tr. Ch 4 (to count as tr), 3 tr in same sp. * 4 tr in sp between 2nd and 3rd groups of tr. Repeat from * to end of row.
3rd row: Same as 2nd row, but work with Red. 4th row: Attach Linen on opposite side of foundation ch in sp between 1st and 2nd groups of tr, ch 4, 3 tr in same sp, * 4 tr in sp between 2nd and 3rd tr, and repeat from * to end of row. 5th row: Work with Red to correspond with opposite side. Break off.
Measure off 6 inches from end and attach Linen to next sp and work to within 6 inches from opposite end. Break off. Attach Red at beginning of row just completed to sp between 1st and 2nd groups of tr, and work as before. Continue alternating Red and Linen until 11 rows have been made through the center. Fasten by pulling one end through a sp on other end.
