Stole Edging No. 2 Pattern

If you don't want to knit a Stole …

Cut fabric to size (approximately 72" x 20"). Make a small hem on heavy fabric (Tweed, Wool-Flannel). Double light weight materials (Jersey, Silk), edge with either Pompons or Fringes, as suggested in photographs.

Work row of sc in fabric.
The following Pat St can be worked on either 2, 3 or 4 sides of stole.

PATTERN: Multiple of 5 plus 1.

Row 1: Sc in first sc, * ch 7, skip next 4 sc, sc in following sc *; repeat from * across, ending with a sc in last sc. Ch 7, turn. Row 2: Sc in first ch-7 space, * ch 7, sc in next ch-7 space *; repeat from * across, ending with sc in last ch-7 space; ch 3, tr in sc of row below. Ch 7, turn. Row 3: Sc in first ch-7 space, * ch 7, sc in next ch-7 space *; repeat from * across, ending with ch-7, sc in 4th ch of last ch-7 space of row below. Fasten off.
