MATERIALS: BEAR BRAND DELUXE KNITTING WORSTED or FLEISHER'S SUPERIOR KNITTING WORSTED, or BOTANY KNITTING WORSTED, 1, 4 oz. skein.

"Boye" Crochet Hook, Size K—or size you require to work to gauge given below.

GAUGE: 3 sc  = 1 inch

Ch 3, join with slip st in first st to form a ring. Work 7 sc in ring. Mark end of round. Carry up marker to mark end of each round.
Round 2—Loop St round—Continuing around, * wind yarn around index finger of left hand once, insert hook in next sc, bring hook under both strands of yarn below loop on finger from front to back and draw both strands at base of loop through sc, drop loop from finger and hold down on right side of work, yarn over hook and pull through the 3 loops on hook—a loop st—; repeat from * 6 times; 7 loop sts.
Round 3—First inc. round—Work 2 sc in each st around; 14 sc.
Round 4—Work a loop st in each sc around; 14 loop sts.
Round 5—2nd inc. round—Work * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from * 6 times; 21 sc.
Round 6—Work 1 loop st in each sc around; 21 loop sts.
Round 7—3rd inc. round—Work * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts; repeat from * 6 times; 28 sc.
Round 8—Work 1 loop st in each sc around; 28 loop sts.
Round 9—Work 1 sc in each st around.
Round 10—Work same as round 9.
Round 11—Same as round 8.
Round 12—4th inc. round—Work * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts; repeat from * 6 times; 35 sc.
Round 13—Work 1 loop st in each sc around; 35 loop sts.
Round 14—5th inc. round—Work * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 4 sts; repeat from * 6 times; 42 sc.
Round 15—Work 1 loop st in each sc around; 42 loop sts.
Round 16—6th inc. round—Work * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 5 sts; repeat from * 6 times; 49 sc.
Round 17—Work 1 loop st in each sc around; 49 loop sts.
Round 18—Work 1 sc in each st around.
Round 19—Same as round 18.
Round 20—Same as round 17.
Round 21—7th inc. round—Work * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 6 sts; repeat from * 6 times; 56 sc.
Round 22—Work 1 loop st in each sc around; 56 loop sts.
Round 23—8th inc. round—Work * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 7 sts; repeat from * 6 times; 63 sc.
Round 24—Work 1 loop st in each sc around; 63 loop sts.
Round 25—9th inc. round—Work * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 8 sts; repeat from * 6 times; 70 sc.
Round 26—Work 1 loop st in each sc around; 70 loop sts.
Round 27—Work 1 sc in each st around.
Round 28—Same as round 27.
Round 29—Same as round 26.
Round 30—Same as round 27.
Repeat last 2 rounds twice. Fasten off. Trim with sequins as illustrated, if de­sired.
