Materials Required—
AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "STAR" MERCERIZED CROCHET COTTON
9 400-yd. Balls White, Size 20.
2½ yds. Linen.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 10.
Each Motif measures about 7½ inches.
Finished Linen square measures about 7½ inches.
14 Crocheted motifs and 14 Linen squares are required for cover illustrated.
If a larger cover is desired add more motifs for length and width.

FILET MOTIF. Ch 107, d c in 8th st from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 sts, d c in next st, repeat from * across row, (34 meshes) ch 5, turn.

2nd Row—D c in d c, * ch 2, d c in next d c, repeat from * across row and continue working back and forth according to diagram working 4 d c for each solid mesh and 3 d c for each additional solid mesh.

Work one of each design and around each motif work a row of s c working 2 s c over each mesh and 5 s c over each mesh at corner, break thread.

Cut a square of linen same size as crocheted motif allowing ⅜ inch on all sides for a very narrow hem. Work a row of s c over hem, break thread.

Sew crocheted motifs and linen squares together as illustrated.

SIDE TUCK IN. Cut a piece of material same length as cover and 11 inches wide allowing ⅜ inch for a very narrow hem. Work a row of s c all around, ch 3, turn, 2 d c in same space, skip 2 s c, sl st in next s c, * ch 3, 2 d c in same space, skip 2 s c, sl st in next s c, repeat from * on 2 short and 1 long side.

Sew to cover with Star Twist Mercerized Sewing Thread. Finish other side and lower edge in same manner.
