J. & P. COATS or CLARK'S O.N.T. PEARL COTTON, Art. A. or B.19, Size 5: 1 ball each of No. 46-B Beauty Rose and No. 48 Hunter's Green.
Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.
5 small snap fasteners. ... A doll 7 ½ inches tall; waist 4 ¾ inches.

NIGHTGOWN ... Starting at neck with White, ch 23. 1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook, * dc in next ch, 2 dc in next ch. Repeat from * across to within last 3 ch, dc in last 3 ch. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: Dc in first dc, dc in each dc across, increasing 8 dc evenly across—to inc 1 dc, make 2 dc in 1 dc—dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: Work as for last row, increasing 5 dc evenly across. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: Sc in front loop of first 8 dc, ch 7 (for armhole), skip 7 dc, sc in front loop of next 14 dc, ch 7 (for other armhole), skip 7 dc, sc in front loop of each remaining dc, sc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 5th row: Dc in first sc, 2 dc in each sc and in each ch across. Ch 3, turn. 6th to 20th rows incl: Skip first dc, dc in each dc across, dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. Break off at end of 20th row.

SLEEVE ... 1st rnd: Attach White to center ch at underarm, ch 3, dc in same place, 2 dc in each ch and in back loop of each dc around. Join. 2nd to 7th rnds incl: Ch 3, dc in each dc around. Join. Break off at end of 7th rnd.

EDGING ... 1st rnd: Attach Beauty Rose to any dc, * dec 1 sc over next 2 dc—to dec 1 sc, work off 2 sc as 1 sc. Repeat from * around. Join. 2nd rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 5, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join and break off. Make other Sleeve the same way.

Attach Beauty Rose to bottom of Nightgown and work edging the same way omitting decreases. Make edging across yoke, working into free loop of each dc on 4th row. Attach White to back opening, sc closely across. Ch 1, turn. Next 2 rows: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Break off at end of last row. Work across other side of opening the same way. Sew snap fasteners in place.

FLOWER (Make 18) ... Starting at center with Beauty Rose, ch 2. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, (ch 3, sc in same ch) 3 times; ch 3. Join to first sc. Break off. Sew Flowers to Nightgown. With Green embroider leaves.

NIGHT CAP ... Starting at center with White, ch 5. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Ch 3, 11 dc in ring. Join. 2nd rnd: Ch 3, dc in same place as sl st, 2 dc in each dc around. Join. 3rd to 8th rnds incl: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, increasing 12 dc evenly around. Join. 9th rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 1, skip 1 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join. 10th rnd: Ch 4, tr in next sp, * 2 tr in next sc, tr in next sp, in next sc and in next sp. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

With Beauty Rose make a chain 10 inches long and lace through ch-1 sps on Cap. Tie into a bow at back, drawing Cap in to fit.

SLIPPER (Make 2) ... Starting at center of bottom with White, ch 11. 1st rnd: 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across, 6 dc in last ch. Working along opposite side of starting chain make dc in each ch across, 3 dc in same place where first 2 dc were made. Join. 2nd rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, sc in back loop of each dc around. Join. 3rd rnd: Mark off 3 center sc at one rounded end, sc in each sc around to marked sc, work off 3 sc as 1 sc (a 2-sc decrease made for instep), sc in each remaining sc around. 4th and 5th rnds: Sc in each sc around, decreasing 2 sc over previous decreases as before. Join. Break off at end of 5th rnd.

Work edging as for Sleeve. Make a flower and sew to instep and embroider leaves as before.
