Materials: Clark's O.N.T. "Brilliant", 1 ball each of Light Pink, Dark Pink and Green.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 8.
1 yd. of wire for stems.
A spray of fern.
½ yd. satin ribbon, 1 inch wide.
Tinfoil.

Center. With Light Pink, ch 3. 1st row: 2 s c in 2nd ch from hook, 2 s c in next ch. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: 2 s c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. 3rd to 8th rows incl: S c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. 9th row: Skip 1st s c, s c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat the last row until 4 s c remain. Fasten and break off, leaving a 6-inch length of thread with which to fasten this piece to wire.

Cut a 6-inch length of wire, and bend one end over to form a 1-inch loop. Fold center just made lengthwise, and sew over wire loop.

Small Petal. With Light Pink, ch 3. 1st and 2nd rows: Same as 1st and 2nd rows of center. 3rd row: 2 s c in next s c, s c in each of next 6 s c, 2 s c in next s c. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: S c in each s c. Ch 1, turn. 5th row: S c in each of next 4 s c, 2 s c in each of next 2 s c, s c in each of next 4 s c. Ch 1, turn. 6th row: S c in each of next 4 s c, 2 s c in each of next 4 s c, s c in each of next 4 s c. Ch 1, turn. 7th row: Ship 1st s c, s c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat the last row until 10 s c remain. Do not break off, but sl st in end st of every other row around 2 sides of piece. Fasten and break off. Sew this piece to base of center, cupping petal naturally.

Large Petal. With Dark Pink, ch 3. 1st, 2nd and 3rd rows: Same as 1st, 2nd and 3rd rows of small petal. 4th row: Same as 5th row of small petal. 5th row: 2 s c in next s c, s c in each of next 3 s c, 2 s c in each of next 4 s c, s c in each of next 3 s c, 2 s c in next s c. Ch 1, turn. 6th row: S c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. 7th row: 2 s c in each of next 2 s c, s c in each of next 14 s c, 2 s c in each of next 2 s c. Ch 1, turn. 8th row: S c in each of next 6 s c, 2 s c in each of next 10 s c, s c in each of next 6 s c. Ch 1, turn. 9th row: Same as 6th row. 10th row: S c in every other s c across. Ch 1, turn. 11th row: Same as 7th row of small petal. Repeat last row until 10 s c remain. Finish this piece and fasten to center as for small petal.

Cover wire by winding Green thread closely around, being sure to fasten ends securely. This completes one flower. Make 5 more flowers same as this. Arrange flowers with fern, and finish corsage with tinfoil and ribbon, as in illustration.
