Materials Required:
Columbia-Minerva Featherweight Knitting Worsted (2 oz. skein)
Color 1--6 Skeins (Background)
Color 2--3 Skeins
Color 3--2 Skeins
Color 4--1 Skein
Color 5--1 Skein
1 "Boye" Aluminum Crochet Hook "I" (Size 8)
Gauge: 2 Patterns to 1 1/4 inches.
Pattern Stitch: (Multiple of 2 Ch.)
Row 1--1 S.C. in 2nd Ch from hook, *draw up a 1/2 inch loop, Y.O. and draw up a 1/2 inch loop in same Ch., Y.O. hook and through the 3 loops, skip 1 Ch, 1 S.C. in next Ch, repeat from * across row, Ch 2, turn.
Row 2--*Draw up a 1/2 inch loop, Y.O. and draw up a 1/2 inch loop in same St, Y.O. hook and through the 3 loops, 1 S.C. in next S.C., repeat from * across row, Ch 2, turn. Repeat Row 2 for Pattern.
Afghan: With Color 1, Ch 136. Work in Pattern St. for 4 rows, do not end last row with Ch 2, but draw Color 2 through loop on hook, Ch 2. Work Stripe Pattern in Pattern St. (always ending Stripes with draw new color through loop on hook, then Ch 2) as follows:

2 rows Color 3
2 rows Color 2
2 rows Color 4
2 rows Color 5
4 rows Color 3
2 rows Color 2
24 rows Color 1
Repeat these 42 rows 2 times more, then work first 22 rows of Pattern. Break yarn and fasten.
Fringe: Wind Color 1 over a 6 inch cardboard. Cut loops at one end. Fold and knot 4 strands about 1/2 inch apart across each end of Afghan.
