Use thread double throughout. With Blue Jewel, ch 4. Join with sl st to form ring. Work very loosely. 1st rnd: 8 half d c in ring. 2nd rnd: 2 half d c in each st of previous rnd. 3rd rnd: * 1 half d c in next st, 2 half d c in next, and repeat from * around. 4th rnd: 1 half d c in each st, and 2 half d c over each increase. 5th to 14th rnds incl: Repeat 4th rnd, changing to Skipper Blue for the 10th, 11th, 13th and 14th rnds. Break off. Insert: With Blue Jewel, ch 56, turn. 1st row: 1 s c in 3rd ch from hook and in each st of ch. 2nd row: 1 sl st in each st. Ch 2, turn. 3rd row: 1 s c in each st. 4th row: Same as 2nd row. 5th row: 1 s c in each of 1st 14 sts, ch 28, skip 28 sts of previous row, 1 s c in each of next 14 sts. 6th to 10th rows incl: Alternate 2nd and 3rd rows, ending with 2nd row. Break thread. Sew Talon slide fastener in slit. Sew circular piece around insert, and make handles, one Blue Jewel and one Skipper Blue, ch 61 and work 1 row of s c along ch. Attach as shown in illustration. Sew in lining.
