Materials Required:
Columbia-Minerva Knitting Worsted (4 ounce skein)
Color 1, Afghan 4 skeins, Pillow 1 skein
Color 2, Afghan 4 skeins, Pillow 1 skein
Color 3, Afghan 4 skeins, Pillow 1 skein

Columbia-Minerva Nantuk 4 Ply Knitting Yarn (Knitting Worsted Size--2 or 4 ounce skein)
Color 1, Afghan 18 Ounces, Pillow 6 Ounces
Color 2 Afghan 18 Ounces, Pillow 6 Ounces
Color 3 Afghan 18 Ounces, Pillow 6 Ounces
1 "Boye" Aluminum Crochet Hook "J" (Size 9)
Gauge: 1 Pattern (3 Sts.) to 1 inch
Pattern Stitch: (Multiple of 3 ch. plus 1)
Ch. desired length.
Row 1--With Color 1, 1 S.C. in 2nd Ch from hook, 1 D.C. in next Ch., 1 Tr.C. in next Ch., *1 S.C. in next Ch., 1 D.C. in next Ch., 1 Tr.C in next Ch., repeat from * to end of row, drop yarn but do not break.
Row 2--Draw Color 2 through loop on hook. Ch. 1, *1 S.C. in Tr. C. of previous row, 1 D.C. in next St., 1 Tr. C. in next St. (S.C. of previous row), repeat from * to end of row, drop yarn, but do not break.
Row 3--Draw Color 3 through loop on hook, Ch. 1 and work same as Row 2.
Row 4--Draw Color 1 through loop on hook and work same as Row 2. Repeat Rows 2, 3 and 4 for Pattern.
Afghan: With Color 1, Ch. 205. Work in Pattern St. (68 Patterns) for 46 inches, ending with Color 1. Break yarn and fasten.
Fringe: Each end of Afghan has fringe to match color of Stripes. Wind color 1 yarn over a 6 inch cardboard. Cut loops at one end. Fold and knot 3 strands, making 1 fringe in each color 1 row that starts or ends with a S.C. and 2 fringe in each Color 1 row that starts or ends with a Tr.C. Make and knot Fringe in Color 2 and Color 3 Stripes in same manner.
Pillow: With Color 1, Ch. 49. Work in Pattern St. (16 Patterns) for about 16 inches, ending with Color 1. Break yarn and fasten. Make 2.
Insert pillow and sew pieces together.
Twisted Cord: Twist together about 10 strands each of Colors 1 and 2 to form Cord. Sew around outside edge of Pillow.
