Crochet Ball Pattern

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Lily Sugar 'N Cream Yarn Art. 930 or
Lily Cotton Yarn Art. 600
A partial skein or ball of White and Red.
Crochet hook size 1.
Stuffing such as beans, kapoc, cotton, or even rags.

Approximately 5" in diameter.

In Red, ch 2, 7 sc in first st and drop, do not cut. ROW 2—In both loops at all times, join White to first sc and make 2 sc in each sc (14 sc). Drop White. ROW 3—Pick up Red, (sc in next White sc, 2 sc in next) 7 times. Drop Red. ROW 4—Pick up White, (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next) 7 times. Drop White. ROW 5—In Red, (sc in 3 sc, 2 sc in next) 7 times. ROW 6—In White, (sc in 4, 2 sc in next) 7 times. ROW 7—Make a Red row without widening. ROW 8—In White, (sc in 5, 2 in next) 7 times. Repeat Row 7. ROW 10—In White, sc in 6, 2 in next) 7 times. Repeat Row 7. ROW 12—In White, (sc in 7, 2 sc in next) 7 times. Repeat Row 7. ROW 14—In White, (sc in 8, 2 sc in next) 7 times. Repeat Row 7. ROW 16—In White, (sc in 9, 2 sc in next) 7 times. Repeat Row 7 plus 6 extra sc. Fasten off.

Work a White row without widening around to end of Red row and fasten off. OTHER HALF—Repeat through Row 16. Make a Red row and a White row without widening, add 5 White sc and fasten off. Work Red around to end of White row and fasten off. With ends of rows meeting, sew halves together through both loops of each st. Leave a small opening, stuff hard, then close.
