Spoked Wheel Potholder Pattern

MATERIALS: CLARK'S O.N.T. COTTON RUG YARN, 1 ball each of a light color, and a dark color.

Clark's O.N.T. Rug and Afghan Hook, size G.

This amount is sufficient for 4 pot holders.

Starting at center, with dark color ch 6, join with sl st to form a ring. 1st rnd: Ch 4, (d c in ring, ch 1) 8 times. Sl st to 3rd st of ch-4. Drop dark color. 2nd rnd: Attach light color, s c in same place as sl st, * s c in ch-1 sp, s c in next d c. Repeat from * around. 3rd rnd: S c in each st around, increasing as necessary to keep work flat—to inc., make 2 s c in 1 s c. Drop light color. 4th rnd: Pick up dark color and work as for 3rd rnd. Fasten off dark color. 5th rnd: Pick up light color and work as for 3rd rnd. 6th, 7th and 8th rnds: Work around as before. Drop light color. 9th rnd: Attach dark color and make a long s c—to make a long s c, in­sert hook in s c 3 rows down and directly below next s c on 9th rnd, thread over and pull thread through to the top of the 9th rnd, finish as for an s c; * s c in next 4 s c, along s c over next s c. Repeat from * around. Now work 2 more rnds of s c, increasing as before. Ch 15 for hanger and join with sl st to next s c. Fasten off. For other pot holders, reverse colors if desired.
