Materials: Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, Ecru, size 10 to 30. Milward's steel crochet No. 6.

Ch 5, s c in 1st st of ch to form p. Make 2 more picots the same way. Then ch 22, join with sl st to 1st st of this ch to form ring. Work around half of ring, making 7 s c, ch 3, 7 s c into ring. Make a row of 9 p's (same as before). Join with s c to bottom of 3rd p from hook. * Make another p and join with s c to bottom of next p. Repeat from * 5 more times. In other half of ring make 7 s c, ch 3, 7 s c. Make 3 p's, joining each to corresponding p's. This completes one figure of pattern.

Ch 10, make another figure, join­ing ring to 1st as follows: Into ring work 7 s c, take out hook and draw thread loop through the last ch-3 loop of the last figure, and continue as before.

Make figures with ch 10 between for desired length. Finish edge with s c in each ch and between the joined p's. Then ch 4, turn and work a row of d c, * ch 1, skip 1 s c and d c in next st. Repeat from * across.
