Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "AUNT LYDIA'S" STAR SPUN, Article 235
7 skeins #1 Gold (White with Gold Metallic)
or
"AUNT LYDIA'S" HEAVY RUG YARN, Article 235
6 skeins Natural or color of your choice.
Aluminum crochet hook size G.
1 pair knitting bag sticks or handles.

Starting at top of bag ch 45 (to measure about 12½ inches), s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn.
2nd Row. 1 s c in each s c, ch 1, turn.
3rd Row. Skip 1 s c, 2 s c in next s c, * ch 1, skip 1 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * across row, ch 1, turn.
4th Row. Skip 1 s c, 2 s c in next s c, * ch 1, skip the ch 1 and 1 s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from * across row, ch 1, turn. Repeat the last row until piece measures 12 inches from beginning, cut yarn.
Work another section in same manner.
Sew the 2 sections of bag together starting about 2 inches from top and sewing down one side, across lower edge and up opposite side to within 2 inches of top.
Work 44 s c over bar of one stick or handle, cut yarn leaving a length for sewing. Sew across top of 1 section of knitting bag. Cover bar of other stick or handle in same manner and sew across top of opposite section.

HANDLE: If knitting sticks are used, cut 12—32 inch lengths of yarn. Tie together about 2 inches from one end for tassel. Divide yarn into 3 parts and braid to within 2½ inches from end, tie and trim to form tassel. Sew each end to knitting bag as illustrated.
Work opposite handle in same manner.
