MATERIALS REQUIRED:
DAISY Mercerized Crochet Cotton size 30.
1-skein each White and No. 10 Yellow.
Steel crochet hook No. 13.
A pair of white pillow cases.

EDGING—Flower—With White ch 11, join with sl st to form ring. ROW 1—Ch 1, 18 sc in ring, join with sl st in 1st sc. ROW 2—* Ch 1, (2 dc in next sc) twice, ch 1, sc in next sc. Repeat from * 5 times (6 petals). ROW 3—* Ch 23, sl st in same st, ch 3 behind next petal, sl st in next sc between petals. Repeat from * 5 times, ch 3, join to base of 1st large lp. ROW 4—3 hdc and 12 dc in half of next lp, * in 12th (center) ch of lp make 2 dc, ch 4, sl st in last dc for a p, and 2 dc; 12 dc and 3 hdc in bal. of lp, sl st in ch-3 behind next petal, 3 hdc and 3 dc in next lp, sl st back in 6th st up side of last petal, 5 dc back in large lp, ch 9, turn, sk next 4 dc on pre­vious petal, sl st in next dc. Ch 1, turn, 11 sc on ch-9 lp, 4 dc up to center of large lp. Repeat from * once. (2 dc, a p and 2 dc) in center st of lp, 12 dc and 3 hdc in bal. of lp, sl st in ch-3 behind next petal, ** 3 hdc and 3 dc in next lp, sl st back in 6th st up side of last petal, 9 dc back in large lp up to center. Repeat from * to **. Fas­ten off. Tack 1st and 6th petals tog. by 6th st up side of each. Make 9 Flowers for each half of pillow case. Tack 1st and 6th large petals on each flower to 3d and 4th petals on next flower.

Top Edge—Join Yellow to top petal on 1 flower, * ch 7, s c in 5th ch from hook for a p, ch 9, p, ch 3, sc in cen­ter of next 11-sc, ch 7, p, ch 9, p, ch 3, tr down in joining of flowers, ch 7, p, ch 9, p, ch 3, sc in center of next 11-sc lp on next flower, ch 7, p, ch 9, p, ch 3, sc in next petal. Repeat from * around. ROW 2—Sl st to center of 1st p-lp, * (ch 7, p, ch 9, p, ch 3, dc in next p-lp) twice, ch 7, p, ch 9, p, ch 3, sc in next p-lp, ch 7, p, ch 11, p, ch 3, sc in next p-lp. Repeat from * around. ROW 3—Sl st to center of 1st p-lp, ch 12, dc in next p-lp, ch 9, dc in next p-lp, * (ch 11, dc in next p-lp) twice, (ch 9, dc in next p-lp) twice. Repeat from * around, join to 3d st of ch-12. ROW 4—Ch 1, sc in same st, * (9 sc in next sp, sc in next dc) twice, (11 sc in next sp, sc in next dc) twice. Repeat from * around, join and fas­ten off.

Bottom Edge—Join Yellow to joining of 2 flowers, * ch 12, sc in center of next 11-sc lp, ch 12, dc in next petal, ch 8, dc in same place, ch 12, sc in center of next 11-sc lp, ch 12, sc in joining of flowers. Repeat from * around. ROW 2—In each ch-12 lp around, make 7 sc, a 5-ch p and 7 sc. In each ch-8 lp, make 3 sc, a p, (2 sc, a p) twice, and 3 sc.

FLOWER CENTER—With Yellow, ch 2, 6 sc in 2d ch from hook, join with sl st in back lp of 1st sc. ROW 2—(Ch 4, sl st in same sc, sl st in next sc) 6 times. Fasten off. Sew one in center of each flower.

Sew to edge of pillow case.
