Starting at center with Red, ch 2. 1st rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around (7 sc increased). 3rd rnd: * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Continue making sc in each sc around, increasing 7 sc evenly in each rnd until 8 rnds are completed. Insert hook in next st, drop Red and draw through a loop of White. 9th rnd: Working over unused color in order to conceal it, with White, sc in next 2 sc, insert hook in next sc and draw loop through, drop White and draw Red through, thus changing color. Always change color in this manner. Working over unused color, * make 1 Red sc, 3 White sc. Repeat from * around. 10th rnd: With White, sc in each White sc and, with Red, sc in each Red sc, increasing 1 sc in each White section. 11th rnd: Repeat 10th rnd, omitting increases. 12th rnd: Repeat 10th rnd. 13th rnd: * With White, sc in each White sc to within last sc of section, with Red, sc in next 2 sc. Repeat from * around. Break off Red. Now work 2 rnds of sc in White only, increasing as necessary to keep work flat, sl st in next sc. Break off. Attach Red and make sc in each sc around, increasing as necessary to keep work flat. Join and break off. Sc closely in ring. Join and break off. Sew on bone ring.
