62-80 yd. Skeins Cream or any Color desired.
If worked in 2 colors - 26-80 yd. Skeins Cream or Main Color and 36 skeins of contrasting Color.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 5.
1 large Tapestry Needle for sewing.
Each square measures about 10½ inches. 24 squares 4 x 6 are required for rug measuring about 46 x 74 inches.
For a smaller rug use "STAR" Cotton Yarn, Article 75.
50-100 yd. Skeins if worked all in one color.
If worked in 2 colors -
21-100 yd. Skeins Main Color.
29-100 yd. Skeins Contrasting Color.
Ch 26, and work 25 s c on ch, ch 1, turn.
2nd Row. 1 s c in each s c, ch 1, turn. Repeat the 2nd row 25 times, then without breaking yarn, work 25 s c on each side and 3 s c in each corner, turn.
Next Row. 1 loop st in each st and 3 loop sts in center st at each corner. (Loop st: wind yarn over index finger, insert needle in st, draw yarn through pulling yarn from under finger, drop loop from finger letting loop fall to right side of work and complete s c.)
Next Row. 1 loop st in each loop st working 3 loop sts in center st at corners. Repeat last row twice.
Next Row. 1 loop st in each loop st working 1 loop st, ch 1, 1 loop st in center st at each corner, break yarn.
Work 23 more squares in same manner.
Sew squares together having all rows running in the same direction.
Edge. Work 5 rows of loop sts all around, working 1 loop st in each loop st and 1 loop st, ch 1, 1 loop st in the ch at each corner in. each row.
