Monogram Towel Decorative Crochet Pattern TW359

MATERIALS:
J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Pearl Cotton, Size 5: 3 balls of No. 43 Dk. Yellow and 2 balls of No. 12 Black, or
J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen: 1 ball each of No. 9 Yellow and No. 12 Black.
Milward's Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.
A turquoise bath towel.

   Make a sketch of letters desired 6 inches high for monogram.

INITIAL ... Starting at long side with Yellow, make a chain slightly longer than strip desired. Break off. 1st row: Attach Black to first ch, sc in each ch across. Break off. 2nd row: Attach Yellow to first sc, sc in same sc, * sc in base of next sc (long sc made), sc in back loop of next sc. Repeat from * across. Break off. 3rd row: Attach Black to first sc, sl st in each sc across. Break off. Pin sketch to towel. Sew Initials in place over sketch.

EDGING ... Mark off ¼ inch sps across towel ½ inch from lower edge. Attach Black and work exactly as for Edging of Water Lily Bath Set.

FRINGE ... With Yellow work as for Fringe of Water Lily Bath Set. Make Edging and Fringe on opposite end of towel in this manner.
