Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY
"DE LUXE" CROCHET COTTON, Article 346 or
"PURITAN" CROCHET COTTON, Article 40
1 ball each White and Red
Steel Crochet Hooks No. 7 and No. 9
7 Sequins and 7 Small Beads. 4 inches covered White spool wire.
One 7 inch boy Doll

PANTS—Starting at lower end with White and No. 7 hook, ch 11, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1 to turn all rows.
2nd Row—1 s c in each s c. Repeat the 2nd row 11 times.
14th Row—Working in s c, increase 1 s c at beginning of row.
15th Row—Increase 1 s c at end of row.
16th Row—Work even.
17th Row—Increase 1 s c at end of row.
18th Row—Increase 1 s c at beginning of row.
19th Row—Increase 1 s c at end of row.
20th Row—Work even.
Repeat the 17th and 18th rows.
23rd and 24th Rows—Work even.
25th Row—Increase 1 s c at end of row.
26th Row—Work even. Repeat the last 2 rows once.
29th Row—Decrease 1 s c at beginning of row for crotch.
30th Row—1 s c in each of the next 16 s c.
31st Row—Work even.
32nd Row—Decrease 1 s c at beginning of row, then work 6 rows even.
39th Row—Decrease 1 s c at end of row.
40th Row—Work even. Repeat the 39th and 40th rows 3 times.
47th Row—Decrease 1 s c at end of row.
48th Row—Decrease 1 s c at beginning of row.
49th Row—Decrease 3 sts evenly spaced, cut thread. Work another section in same manner. Sew the two outside edges together (curved sides), then sew the two inside edges to­gether to the 29th row (crotch). Work 2 more sections in same manner and sew together same as 1st leg but leave side seam open for ½ inch at top. Sew back and front seams. Crochet a row of s c across waistline and place on doll. Sew remainder of side seam or finish with snap fastener.
STRAPS—With White, ch 12 leaving an end and sew to lower edge of pants leg, sewing at each seam. This goes under the shoe.
FRONT—With Red and No. 7 hook ch 13, s c in 2nd st from hook, s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn.
2nd Row—1 s c in each s c, ch 1 to turn all rows. Repeat the last row 3 times.
6th Row—1 s c in each s c working 2 s c in last s c.
7th Row—Work even in s c. Repeat the last 2 rows twice.
12th Row—Work even.
13th Row—Sl st in each of the 1st 2 sts, ch 1 and work 1 s c in each of the next 13 s c.
14th Row—1 s c in each of the 13 s c. Repeat the last row 7 times, cut thread. Work another front in same manner.
BACK—With Red and No. 7 hook ch 18, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1 to turn all rows.
2nd Row—1 s c in each s c. Repeat the last row 3 times.
6th Row—Increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row, then work 1 row even. Repeat the last 2 rows twice.
12th Row—Work even.
13th Row—Sl st in each of the 1st 3 s c for underarm, 1 s c in each of the next 17 s c.
Next 8 Rows—Work even on the 17 s c, cut thread.
Sew 1st 4 sts of last row of back to 1st 4 sts at armhole side of front for shoulder.
Sew other shoulder in same manner. Sew side seams.
SLEEVES—With Red and No. 7 hook ch 15, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1 to turn all rows.
2nd Row—1 s c in each s c.
3rd Row—Increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row.
Work 3 rows even. Repeat the last 4 rows once.
Work 9 rows even.
Next 6 Rows—Decrease 1 s c at beginning and end of each row, cut thread. Sew side seam to the 1st decreasing row and sew sleeves in position.
LOWER SECTION OF COAT—With Red and No. 7 hook ch 6, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1 to turn all rows.
2nd Row—1 s c in each of the 1st 4 s c, 3 s c in last s c.
3rd Row—2 s c in 1st st, 1 s c in each remaining st.
4th Row—1 s c in each st working 2 s d c in last st (s d c: thread over hook, insert in st, pull loop through, thread over and pull through all loops at one time) . Repeat the 3rd and 4th rows 3 times.
11th Row—2 s c in 1st st, 1 s c in each of the next 14 sts.
12th Row—1 s c in each s c. Repeat the last row 14 times, cut thread. Work another section in same manner but do not cut thread, ch 1, turn.
Next Row—1 s c in each s c, pick up 1st section and work 1 s c in each s c of that section having the straight side in center, ch 1, turn.
Next Row—1 s c in each s c working across both sections, ch 1, turn.
Next 4 Rows—Work even.
Next Row—Decrease 4 sts evenly spaced, then work 1 row even. Repeat the last 2 rows once, then work 1 more row even, cut thread leaving an end. Thread into needle and sew to lower edge of jacket in back.
With Red and No. 9 hook work a row of s c around entire jacket but do not work up center opening at back of jacket, cut thread. Press center front of neck edge down about ½ inch to form lapels.
Finish with 4 sequins as illustrated for front. If desired use hook and eye for fastening. Sew 2 sequins at back waist line.
ASCOT—Using a 6 inch length of ribbon or silk 1½ inches wide, place around neck and tie at front as illustrated.
BATON—Cut a 4 inch length of White covered spool wire, double in half and wind with White thread. If desired, brush baton with glue and cover with tiny sprinkles. Sew a sequin to top of baton.
