Handkerchief Edging Pattern, No. 8191

Materials: Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mer­cerized Crochet, size 80, 1 ball.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 13.
A handkerchief.

To begin, make a chain loosely to measure the length all around edges of handkerchief. 1st row: S c in 2nd ch from hook, s c in each ch across until row measures the length of one side of handkerchief. Then for corner, make 3 s c. Make other 3 sides to correspond. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: 3 d c-cluster in 1st sc. * Ch 5, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c, ch 5, skip 1 s c, 3 d c-cluster in next s c. Repeat from * across, making a cluster, ch 5, cluster in s c at corners. Ch 1, turn. 3rd row: Sl st in 1st loop, * ch 3, s c in next loop. Repeat from * across. 4th row: * 2 s c in next loop, s c in next loop, ch-3 p, s c in same loop. Repeat from * across. Break off.
