Materials

CYNTHIA Bay-Bee Yarn or CYNTHIA Shet­land Floss: 5 ozs. Pink No. 358, 1 oz. White No. 300.
Bone crochet hook No. 3

Gauge: 3 shells = 2 inches

Yoke

Starting at neck edge, with White, ch 56. 1st row: 1 DC in 4th ch from hook, 1 DC in each ch across (54 DC counting turning ch as 1 DC), ch 3, turn. 2nd row: 3 DC in same place as ch 3, skip 2 DC, 1 SC in next st *, ch 3, 3 DC in same st, skip 2 DC, 1 SC in next st (shell), repeat from * across row (18 shells), ch 3, turn. 3rd row: 3 DC in same place as ch 3, 1 SC over ch 3 loop of shell below, * ch 3, 3 DC over same loop, 1 SC over ch 3 loop of next shell, repeat from * across row, ch 3, turn. 4th row: 1 shell in each shell across, increasing 1 shell in the 5th and 14th shells, ch 3, turn. 5th row: 1 shell in each shell, ch 3, turn. 6th row: 1 shell in each shell, in­creasing 1 shell in the 6th and 15th shells, ch 3, turn. 7th row: 1 shell in each shell, ch 3, turn. 8th row: 1 shell in each shell, increasing 1 shell in the 7th and 16th shells, ch 3, turn. 9th row: 1 shell in each shell, at end of row continue across side edge (this is right front), working 5 shells, ch 22, turn. Next row: 1 DC in 4th ch from hook, 1 DC in each st of ch, 1 shell in each of 5 shells, ch 3, turn. Next row: 1 shell in each shell, then work 7 shells across DCs of previous row, ch 3, turn. Next row: 1 shell in each shell to end of row, ch 12, skip the shells on the 4 rows just worked and 6 shells on shoulder, work 1 shell in each of next 12 shells (back of yoke), ch 12, break yarn, leaving 2 inches of yarn. Tie in White yarn on left front at neck edge and work 5 shells, re­peat until there are 4 rows in all and fasten off. Insert hook in 12th st of ch made after last shell on back and join with slip st to last shell on left front edge. This completes the yoke.

Skirt

With Pink, starting in first shell on left front edge, work 1 shell in each shell on lower edge of yoke, working 3 shells at each underarm (35 shells in all), ch 3, turn. 2nd row: 1 shell in each shell, ch 3, turn. 3rd row: 1 shell in each shell, join last shell in ch 3 of 2nd shell at beginning of row (this makes overlap on front opening), fasten off and work front as follows: tie in Pink in center shell at left underarm, work 1 shell in each shell across front to center shell at right un­derarm (17 shells in all), ch 3, turn. Continue working back and forth on front, increasing 1 shell in the 3rd shell from each edge on the 5th, 8th, 11th, 16th and 27th rows. When there are 37 rows in all from yoke, fasten off. Work Back same as Front.

Sleeves: With Pink, starting at underarm, work 1 shell in each shell around armhole, working 3 shells at underarm. Work 3 rows of shells even; join each row, ch 3, turn. Work 3 more rows, de­creasing 1 shell at each end of each row. Fasten off.

Edging: With Pink, starting on right front edge of opening, work 1 row of shells on side opening and around entire neck edge, spacing shells even­ly. Sew front and back of skirt together. Sew 3 small pearl buttons on left front edge.
