Materials: Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, Size 20, Ecru, 12 balls; or J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, Size 20, Ecru, 10 balls. Milward's steel crochet hook No. 4 or 6.

Medallion: Ch 7, join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Ch 4, * d c over ring, ch 1, repeat from * 10 more times. Join with sl st to 3rd st of ch 4. 2nd rnd: Ch 7, * tr over next d c, ch 3, repeat from * around. Join with sl st to 4th st of ch 7. 3rd rnd: Ch 9, * d tr into sp, ch 4, d tr over next tr, ch 4, d tr over next tr, ch 4, d tr over next tr, ch 4, and repeat from * 3 more times, omitting the last d tr, ch 4. Join last ch 4 to 5th st of ch 9.

4th rnd: Ch 7, * d tr into sp, ch 2, d tr over next d tr, ch 2, d tr into sp, d tr over next d tr, ch 4, 1 d tr in same st, 4 d tr into sp, 5 d tr over d tr and insert hook in 1st of 5 d tr. Draw through loop of last d tr to form a raised cluster. 4 d tr into next sp, 1 d tr on top of d tr, ch 4, d tr into same st, ch 2 and repeat from * 3 more times, omit­ting last d tr, ch 2. Join with sl st into 5th st of ch 7. 5th rnd: Ch 7, * d tr over d tr, ch 2, repeat from * 2 more times, d tr over next d tr, ch 4, skip 1 ch, d tr into each of next 3 ch, 1 raised cluster over d tr, d tr over each of next 3 d tr, ch 3, skip 2 d tr, d tr over each of next 3 d tr, 1 raised cluster over next d tr, d tr into each of next 3 ch, ch 4, skip 1 ch, d tr over d tr, ch 2, and repeat from * 3 more times, omitting last d tr, ch 2. Join with sl st into 5th st of ch 7.

6th rnd: Ch 7, * d tr over d tr, ch 2, repeat from * 2 more times. D tr over d tr, ch 4, skip 1 ch, d tr into each of next 3 ch, 1 raised cluster over d tr, d tr over each of next 2 d tr, d tr over raised cluster, d tr over each of next 3 d tr, 2 d tr into sp, d tr over each of next 3 d tr, d tr over raised cluster, d tr over each of next 2 d tr, 1 raised cluster over next d tr, d tr into each of next 3 ch, ch 4, skip 1 ch, d tr over d tr, ch 2, repeat from * 3 more times, omitting last d tr, ch 2. Join with sl st into 5th st of ch 7. Break off. Make 39 more medallions.

Filet Square: Ch 26. 1st row: D c into 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 sts of foundation ch, d c into next. Repeat from * along ch (7 sps in all). Ch 5, turn. 2nd row: Skip ch 2, d c over d c, * ch 2, skip ch 2, d c over next d c, and repeat from * across, ending with d c. Ch 5, turn. Repeat 2nd row 5 more times. Make 27 more squares.

To make up, overcast filet sections of medallions to filet squares, then overcast d tr sections of medallions together.

Edging: Attach thread and s c in each of 1st 6 sts, * make a ch 5 picot and s c into each of next 6 sts. Repeat from * around. Finish off.
