Coats—2 balls of White, Ecru or Cream … Steel Crochet Hook No. 10.

Centerpiece measures 15 inches across center; each Place Mat 13 inches.

CENTERPIECE … Make 3 rows of 3 motifs as for Pineapple Tablecloth Pattern No. 7859, joining motifs and making fill-in laces to corre­spond.

BORDER … Complete as for Pineapple Tablecloth Pattern No. 7859.

PLACE MAT (Make 2) … Make 2 rows of 2 motifs as for Pineapple Tablecloth Pattern No. 7859, joining motifs and making fill-in laces to correspond.

BORDER … Make 3 corner pine­apples on each motif as for Pineapple Tablecloth Pattern No. 7859, joining First Pineapple of each corner to Third Pineapple of previous corner in the same way that the Side Pine­apple of Pineapple Tablecloth Pattern No. 7859 was joined to Third Pineapple of corner.

EDGING … Attach thread to first free loop on corner pineapple, ch 4 and complete a cluster in same loop, * (ch 7, cluster in next free loop) twice; (ch 7, in next ch-5 loop make cluster, ch 7 and cluster) twice; (ch 7, cluster in next loop) 3 times; cluster in next free loop of next pineapple, ch 7, cluster in next loop, (ch 7, in next loop make cluster, ch 7 and cluster) twice; (ch 7, cluster in next loop) twice; cluster in next free loop of next pineapple, (ch 7, cluster in next loop) twice; (ch 7, in next loop make cluster, ch 7 and cluster) twice; (ch 7, cluster in next loop) 3 times; cluster in next loop of next pineapple. Repeat from * around. Join. Complete edging over each group of corner pineapples to correspond with corner groups of Pineapple Tablecloth Pattern No. 7859.
