Steel crochet hook No. 13.
PETAL: With Shaded Pinks ch 2, 3 s c in 2nd st from hook, ch 1 to turn each row.
2nd Row—2 s c in 1st s c, 1 s c in next s c, 2 s c in next s c.
Next 4 Rows—1 s c in each s c.
7th Row—Increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row, then work 2 rows even. Repeat the last 3 rows once.
13th Row—Increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row then work 1 row even.
15th Row—Increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row then work 5 rows even (13 s c).
21st Row—Decrease 1 s c at beginning and end of row (to decrease: * insert hook in next st, pull loop through, repeat from * once, thread over and pull through all loops at one time).
22nd Row—Work even.
23rd Row—Skip 1 s c, s c in next s c, 1 d c in each of the next 3 s c, sl st in next st, 1 d c in each of the next 3 s c, s c in next s c, ch 1 and without cutting thread, work a row of s c down left hand side, around lower edge and up right hand side, do not work across top, cut thread. Work 4 more petals in same manner.
Using 4 Yellow Stamens, double in half and wrap a 6 inch length of thin wire around lower edge several times to hold in place, leave remainder of wire for stem. Place the 5 petals of flower around stamens lapping 1 petal half way over the previous petal as illustrated.
Tie securely with thread wrapping thread around lower edge about 15 times about ¼ inch from lower edge of petals.
CALYX: With Green ch 8, join to form a ring, ch 1 and work 12 s c in ring, join.
Next 2 Rows—1 s c in each s c, do not join these or remainder of rows.
4th Row—Working in s c, increase in every other st (18 s c). Work 3 rows even.
8th Row—Increase in every 6th s c, then work 3 rows even.
Next Row—** Ch 12, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in next st of ch, 1 s d c in each of the next 9 sts of ch (s d c: thread over hook, insert in st, pull through, thread over and pull through all loops at one time), * insert hook in next s c, pull loop through, repeat from * twice, thread over and pull through all loops at one time, repeat from ** 6 times, join, cut thread.
Pull stem through center of calyx and place calyx in position.
Work 7 more flowers in same manner.
LEAF: Starting at lower edge with Green ch 4, s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each of the next 2 sts of ch, ch 1 to turn all rows.
2nd Row—1 s c in each s c. Repeat the 2nd row twice.
5th Row—Working in s c, increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row, then work 1 row even.
7th Row—Increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row, then work 2 rows even.
10th Row—Increase 1 s c at beginning and end of row.
11th Row—Work even. Repeat the last 2 rows 4 times (17 s c in last row).
Next 4 Rows—Work even.
24th Row—Decrease 1 s c at beginning and end of row.
25th Row—Work even. Repeat the last 2 rows twice.
Next 4 Rows—Decrease 1 s c at beginning and end of each row. Work 1 row even.
Next Row—Insert hook in 1st s c, pull loop through, * insert hook in next s c, pull loop through, repeat from * once, thread over and pull through all loops at one time, cut thread. Holding the Green covered spool wire around outside edge, attach Green at lower edge and work a row of s c around entire leaf working over the wire and leaving about 4 inches of wire free on each side at lower edge.
Work 2 more leaves in same manner.
Twist all wires together to form a corsage placing leaves as desired.
