Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "STAR" PEARL COTTON, Article 90, size 5
1 ball each White and Steel Blue
1—7 inch plate
Steel crochet hook No. 5 or No. 6.

Starting at inside edge of front of plate with White ch 174 about 20 inches, join to form a ring being careful not to twist ch, ch 6, skip 2 sts of ch, tr c in next st, * ch 2, skip 2 sts of ch, tr c in next st, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join in 4th st of ch (58 meshes).
2nd Row—Ch 6, tr c in next tr c, * ch 2, tr c in next tr c, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join in 4th st of ch.
3rd and 4th Rows—Same as 2nd row.
5th Row—Ch 6, tr c in next tr c, * ch 1, tr c in next tr c, ch 2, tr c in next tr c, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join. The last 2 rows go in back of plate.

EDGE: Attach Blue in any ch 2 mesh at top of 3rd row, ch 3, 2 d c in same space, ch 3, turn, skip 1 d c, s c in next st, ch 3, turn, s c over ch 3 loop just made, * ch 3, s c in same space, repeat from * twice, ch 2, 2 s c in next mesh of 3rd row, ** ch 2, 3 d c over next mesh, ch 3, turn, skip center d c, s c in next d c, ch 3, turn, s c over ch 3 loop just made, * ch 3, s c in same space, repeat from * twice, ch 2, 2 s c over next mesh at top of 3rd row, repeat from ** all around, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch, cut thread. Attach Blue in any ch 2 mesh of starting ch, 2 s c in same space, * 2 s c over next mesh, repeat from * all around, join, cut thread.
