Each block measures 13 inches square.

BLOCK … Starting at center, ch 12. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Ch 3, 31 dc in ring. Join. 2nd rnd: Ch 5, * skip 1 dc, dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around. Join to 3rd ch of ch-5. 3rd rnd: * Sl st in next sp, ch 5, 3 d tr in same sp, d tr in next dc, 2 d tr in next sp, ch 5, sl st in same sp. Repeat from * around. Join. 4th rnd: Sl st in next 5 ch, ch 5, holding back on hook the last loop of each d tr make d tr in next 6 d tr and in next ch, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made); * ch 11, make an 8-d tr cluster over the next ch, the next 6 d tr and the following ch, ch 19, make cluster as before over next group of sts. Repeat from * around. Join.
   Now work in filet pattern as follows: 1st rnd: Sl st back into last ch made, ch 6, * skip next cluster, tr in next ch (sp made), (ch 2, skip 2 ch, tr in next ch) 3 times; ch 2, skip next cluster, tr in next ch, (ch 2, skip 2 ch, tr in next ch) 3 times; ch 5, tr in same ch as last tr, (ch 2, skip 2 ch, tr in next ch) 3 times; ch 2. Repeat from * around.    Mark centers of scallops as before. Attach thread to center sc of first scallop on row just completed and work in scallop pattern until 1 scallop remains. Break off.
   Work other corners to correspond. Make 2 more blocks the same way. Sew sides of blocks together at corresponding parts.
