Row 3—* Work 1 s c in first st, 2 s c in next st; repeat from * for one round (18 sts), join, ch 1. Continue increasing as described above, being sure to keep work flat, until circle measures 3½ in. in diameter, join, ch 3. ** Row 1—Work 1 d c in each of next 3 sts, then work 1 d c in the ch 3 at beginning of row, * 1 d c in each of next 3 sts, then work 1 d c in the last of the first 3 d c group; repeat from * for one round, join, ch 3. Row 2—1 d c in each of first 3 d c, then work 1 d c in the ch 3 at beginning of row, * skip 1 st, 1 d c in each of next 3 d c, then work 1 d c in the skipped st; repeat from * for 1 round, join, ch 3. Row 3—1 d c in each of first 3 d c, then work 1 d c in the ch 3 at begin­ning of row, ch 1, * skip 1 st, 1 d c in each of next 3 d c, then work 1 dc in the skipped st, ch 1; repeat from * for 1 row.
