CIRCLE—Ch 5, join with a sl st to form a ring. Row 1—Work 6 s c in ring. Row 2—Work 2 s c in each st. Row 3—* Work 1 s c in first st, 2 s c in next st; repeat from * 5 times. Continue in­creasing 6 sts on every row as described above, until circle meas­ures 6 in. in diameter. Work 1 row of s c around circle, taking front loop to form a ridge on the inside of bag. Work 6 rows of s c, st for st around circle, ending with a sl st.
   Ch 3. Work 3 rows of popcorn st as follows: Row 1— * Work 1 d c in each of first 3 sts, 5 d c in next st, remove hook, insert it into the first of the 5 d c just made, draw loop through (popcorn st); repeat from * to end of row. Join with a sl st. Row 2—Ch 3, * work a popcorn st in the center of the 3 d c of previous row and 1 d c in each of the next 3 sts; repeat from * to end of row. Join with a sl st. Row 3—Repeat row 2.
   Work 1 s c in each d c of previous row, skipping the popcorn sts, then work 5 rows of s c st for st. Work 3 rows of popcorn st pattern, as described above and follow with 6 rows of s c, st for st (do not skip the popcorn sts on the first row). Finish with 1 row of popcorn sts around top of bag, working 1 s c between each popcorn st.

TABS—Ch 6. Work 5 s c on ch. Work back and forth in s c for 3 in. Make a corresponding piece.

HANDLE—Ch 7, * work 1 popcorn st in 4th ch from hook, 1 d c in each of next 2 sts, 1 popcorn st in last st. Ch 1, turn. Work 1 s c in each of next 4 sts, ch 3, turn; repeat from * for 14 in. Fasten to tabs with rings.
