MATERIALS—D-M-C Pearl Cotton, Art. 116D, Size 8: 3 balls Blue No. 798 or No. 799 or any other D-M-C color or Ombre color; for 2 Pot Holders.

Steel Crochet Hook, Size 8.

GAUGE: 12 sts = 1 inch; 3 mesh rows = 1 inch; 3 meshes = 1 inch

Ch 80, work 1 tr in 12th ch from hook, * ch 3, skip next 3    chs, 1 tr in next ch; rpt from * across (18 meshes). Row 2—Ch 7, turn, 1 tr in 2nd tr (1 mesh over 1 mesh made), * ch 3, 1 tr in next tr; rpt from * to last mesh, ch 3, 1 tr in 4th ch of turning ch (18 meshes). Rpt row 2 until 18 rows from beginning. Fasten off. Make another piece to correspond. Crochet the 2 pieces together to form pocket as follows: lay one piece over the other, face to face, matching rows, working over both thicknesses, [4 sc, ch 2, 5 sc] in any corner mesh, 4 sc in each mesh to next corner mesh, [4 sc, ch 2, 5 sc] in corner mesh; continue in same way on other 2 sides, on 4th side work only on front piece (thus leaving an opening to insert padding), join (with slip st in first sc), fasten off. Edging—From same side as last rnd, 1 sc in first sc after any corner ch-2 sp, † * skip next 5 sc, work 7 long tr (yo 3 times) in next sc, ch 3, slip st in last long tr made, work 6 more long tr in same sc just used, skip next 5 sc, 1 sc in next sc (Shell made); rpt from * 5 times, ch 6, slip st in 4th ch from hook (Picot made), ch 2, skip ch-2 sp at corner. 1 sc in first sc after ch-2 sp; rpt from † around, ending with Picot, join. Fasten off. Block and press. PRIMROSE (Make 5)—Ch 5, join into ring, ch 1, [1 sc and ch 3] 5 times in ring, join (5 Loops). Rnd 2:—Ch 1, skip joined st, * [a Petal of 1 sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc] in next Loop, ch 1; rpt from * around, join (5 Petals). Rnd 3—Ch 1, 1 sc in joining ch-1 sp, ch 4, * keeping ch-4 in back of Petal work 1 sc in next ch-1 sp between Petals, ch 4; rpt from * around, join (5 ch-4 Loops). Rnd 4—Ch 1, [1 sc, 1 hdc, 5 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc] in each Loop around, join, fasten off. Sew in place as shown. Pre­pare suitable padding and insert thru opening. RING—Chain 2 inches, join into ring, ch 1, 50 sc in ring, join, fasten off. Sew in place as shown.
