MATERIALS—D-M-C Pearl Cotton, Art. 116D, Size 5: 3 balls Snow White or Yellow No. 744 (A), 2 balls Green No. 911 (B) and D-M-C Six Strand Cotton, Art. 117C: 1 skein Black No. 310.

Steel Crochet Hook, Size 7.

GAUGE: 9 sts = 1 inch; 10 rows = 1 inch

PAN—With A ch 5, join (with slip st) into ring. Rnd 1 (right side)—Ch 1, 12 sc in ring, do not join. Rnd 2—2 sc in each of 12 sc (mark end of rnd with thread to make counting easy). Rnd 3 (Even)—1 sc in each sc around. Rnd 4—* 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc; rpt from * 11 times (36 sc). Rnd 5—Even. Rnd 6—* 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of 2 sc; rpt from * 11 times. Rnd 7—Even. Matching rows, sew Handle facing to wrong side of Handle. Block and press. With Black embroider face as shown. Pad with quilted or other suitable lining.

POT—TOP PIECE OF POT—With B ch 42, 1 sc in 4th ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 4 chs, 1 hdc in each of 7 chs, 1 dc in each of 15 chs, 1 hdc in each of 7 chs, 1 sc in each of 4 chs, [1 sc, 1 dc, 1 sc] in end ch, match­ing sts, work 4 sc, 7 hdc, 15 dc, 7 hdc, 4 sc on other side of foundation ch; end, 1 more sc in same ch as first sc, join (with slip st in top of ch-3). Rnd 2—Ch 3, 1 sc in joined st, * 1 sc in each of next 5 sc, 1 hdc in each of next 7 hdc, 1 dc in each of 15 dc, 1 hdc in each of 7 hdc, 1 sc in each of 5 sc *, [1 sc, 1 dc, 1 sc] in next dc; rpt between * once; end, 1 more sc in joined st, join. Rnd 3—Ch 4, [1 tr, 2 dc] in joined st, 1 dc in each of next 18 sts (mark last dc made with thread for later use), 1 dc in each of 23 sts, [2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc] in next dc, 1 dc in each of 41 sts; end, 2 more dc and 1 more tr in joined st, join in ch-4. BODY—With A ch 40, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of 38 chs. Row 2—Ch 1, turn, draw up a loop in each of first 2 sts, yo, thru all 3 loops on hook, 1 sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc. Row 3—Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in each of next 36 sc, draw up a loop in each of next 2 sc, yo, thru all 3 loops on hook. Rpt rows 2 and 3 alternately until 9 rows. Row 10 (Even)—Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc across (39 sc). Work 37 even rows. Rpt row 3. Rpt rows 2 and 3 alternately until 56 rows from beginning. Fasten off. Sew top piece of pot to curved edge of Body as shown, leaving spout free. HANDLE—With B ch 14, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, * ch 1, skip next ch, 1 sc in next ch; rpt from * across. Row 2—Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next ch-1 sp, [ch 1 and 1 sc] in each sp to last sc, 1 sc in last sc. Row 3—Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first sc, [ch 1 and 1 sc] in each ch-1 sp to last 2 sc, ch 1, skip next sc, 1 sc in next sc. Rpt row 2. Row 5—Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next sp (1 dec.), [ch 1 and 1 sc] in each sp to last 2 sc, ch 1, 1 sc in last sc.
