CENTER PANEL: Ch 118 to meas­ure 40 inches, d c in 4th st from hook, 1 d c in each remaining st of ch, ch 1, turn—116 d c. 2nd ROW: 1 s c in each d c, turn—116 sc. 3rd ROW: Ch 3 (counts as 1st d c), skip 1st s c, d c in next s c, popcorn st in next 2 s c (popcorn st: 2 d c in each of the next 2 sts, drop loop off hook, in­sert in 4th st from hook, pick up loop and pull through, ch 1 to tighten st), popcorn st in next 2 s c, popcorn st in next 2 s c, * d c in next s c, popcorn st in next 2 sts, repeat from * across row to within the last 6 sts, popcorn st in next 2 s c, popcorn st in next 2 s c, d c in next st, d c in last s c, ch 1, turn. Keeping pattern as established follow chart until Eagle is completed, then work in pattern of 1 row d c, 1 row s c having 2 d c and 2 popcorn sts on each side until work measures 34 inches from last row of Eagle (top of wing). Repeat from 17th through 32nd row. Repeat the 7th and 8th rows 7 times, cut yarn.

BORDER: Attach yarn at top of panel and working down left side work 1 d c in each s c row, 1 d c in top of each d c row and 1 d c in center of each d c row, working 3 d c in center st at lower corner, working across lower edge 1 d c in each st, 3 d c in corner st, work opposite side to correspond work­ing to corner only, ch 1, turn. 2nd ROW: 1 s c in each st to with­in the 3 corner sts, 2 s c in next st, 1 s c in center st, 2 s c in next st, 1 s c in each remaining st working other corner to corre­spond, ch 3, turn. 3rd ROW: 1 d c in each s c working 3 d c in center st at each corner. Repeat the last 2 rows 4 times. 12th ROW: Same as 2nd row of border. 13th ROW: * Popcorn st in next 2 sts, d c in next st, repeat from * around the 3 sides working 3 d c in center st at each corner, ch 1, turn. 14th ROW: Same as 2nd row of border. Repeat the last 2 rows once, then repeat the 3rd row of border once, cut yarn.

STEM: Crochet a ch to measure 18 inches. Crochet 3 more stems in same manner. Using 2 stems sew to wheat spray as illustrated sewing through center of wheat and crossing stems at center. Fin­ish other spray in same manner.
