Crochet Stole with Multicolored Border Pattern #373

MATERIAL:

4 balls Sport yarn m.c. (2 oz. ball)
1 ball Sport yarn each in 3 different c.c. (2 oz. ball)
1 bone crochet hook No. 4

With No. 4 hook and m.c. ch. 22 inch.

1st row: Work 1 d.c. in 4th st. from hook, * ch. 2, skip 2, 1 d.c. in next st. repeat from * across row, ch. 3, turn.

2nd row: * 1 d.c. on top of d.c. of previous row, ch. 2, repeat from * across row, ch. 3, turn.

Repeat 2nd row for 64 inch. or any desired length. Fasten off.

EDGING:

Folding Stole lengthwise attach first c.c. in 4th d.c. from edge and * work over next d.c. (1 d.c., ch. 1) 7 times, repeat from * to end of stole. Fasten off.

Skip 1 pattern and attach 2nd c.c. in 6th d.c. from edge and work as 1st c.c. Fasten off.

Skip 1 pattern and attach 3rd c.c. in 8th d.c. from edge and work as 1st c.c. Fasten off.

Work edging on other side of stole to correspond.

FRINGE:

Wind yarn over an 8 inch cardboard, cut yarn at one end. Knot 4 strands in every d.c. on both short ends and one long side of stole. On each side of the c.c. edging knot a fringe in the matching color, the rem. fringes are made in m.c. Trim fringe evenly.

Steam lightly.
