Materials:
Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mercer­ized Crochet Size 30 White, Ecru, or Boilfast solid or shaded colors.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 7, 8 or 9.

Ch 3, and join in ring. * Ch 5, 4 tr in ring with ch-2 between, ch 4, and join to form ring by sl st in last tr. 3 s c over ch-2 loop between tr. 2 s c over next ch-2 loop, ch 3, 2 s c over same loop, 3 s c over last ch-2 loop. Ch 5, turn, 4 tr with ch-2 between in center ch-3 loop between s c. Ch 1, 7 tr with ch-2 between in ch ring made previously. Turn, 2 s c over ch-2 loop, ch 3 for p, 2 s c over same ch-2 loop. Continue making s c and p over each of the 5 remaining ch-2 loops. Then make 3 s c over next ch-2 loop. 2 s c, 1 p, 2 s c over next, 3 s c over next. This completes the first section of this lace. Repeat from * fastening with a sl st the last tr of the 7-tr group to the first tr of the 7-tr group previously made. Repeat the pattern for the length desired.
