Starting at Center, ch 4. 1st rnd: 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 3, sc in same ch, (ch 3, 3 dc in same ch, ch 3, sc in same ch) 3 times (4 petals). 2nd rnd: Sl st to center dc of first petal, ch 14, * dc in center dc of next petal, ch 11. Repeat from * around. Join to 3rd ch of ch-14. 3rd rnd: Ch 5, dc in same place as sl st, * (ch 2, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch) 5 times; ch 2, in next dc make dc, ch 2 and dc. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, sl st in 3rd ch of ch-5 (28 sps). 4th rnd: Ch 18, * skip 1 dc, d tr in next dc, ch 13. Repeat from * around. Join to 5th ch of ch-18. 5th rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 7, sc in center ch of next loop, ch 7, sc in next d tr. Repeat from * around. Join to first sc. 6th rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 7, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join and break off. 7th rnd: Attach thread to sc at any point, sc in same place, * ch 9, sc in next sc of next point. Repeat from * around. Join to first sc. 8th rnd: Ch 5, * in next sp make (dc, ch 2) 4 times; dc in next sc, ch 2. Repeat from * around. Join to 3rd ch of ch-5 (70 sps). Now work flowers in strips as follows:

FIRST STRIP . . . Ch 4, 2 dc in 4th ch from hook mak-ing last 2 loops of last dc loose (this is center of flowers), ch 1, sc in top of last dc made, ch 3, in same place make 3 dc, ch 3, sc, ch 3 and 2 dc; ch 5, 2 tr in 5th ch from hook, making last 2 loops of last tr loose for center, ch 1, sc in top of last tr made, ch 4, in same place make 3 tr, ch 4, sc, ch 4 and 2 tr; ch 6, 2 d tr in 6th ch from hook, making last 2 loops of last d tr loose for center, ch 1, sc in top of last d tr made, (ch 5, in same place make 3 d tr, ch 5 and sc) 3 times; ch 5, d tr in same place, sl st at base of first ch-6 made (Large Flower completed); ch 4, tr in same place as last sl st, in center of next flower make sc, ch 4, 3 tr, ch 4, sc, ch 4 and tr; sl st at base of first ch-5 (Middle Flower completed); ch 3, dc in same place as sl st, in center of next flower make sc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, sc, ch 3 and dc; sl st in same place as first sl st (Small Flower completed).

SECOND STRIP . . . (Sl st in next 2 ch and next dc of 8th rnd) 3 times; ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 1, sc in top of last dc made, ch 3, 2 dc in same place, sl st in center dc of corresponding petal on Small Flower of First Strip, in same place on Second Strip make dc, ch 3, sc, ch 3 and 2 dc; ch 5, 2 tr in 5th ch from hook, in top of last tr make sc, ch 4, 2 tr, sl st in center tr of corresponding petal on Middle Flower of First Strip; in same place on Second Strip make tr, ch 4, sc, ch 4 and 2 tr; ch 6, 2 d tr in 6th ch from hook, in top of last d tr make sc, ch 5 and 2 d tr; sl st in center d tr of corresponding petal on Large Flower of First Strip, in same place on Second Strip make d tr, ch 5 and sc. Complete Large Flower, then complete other half of Strip as before, ending with sl st in same dc on center.

THIRD STRIP . . . (Sl st in next 2 ch and next dc of 8th rnd) twice; work as for Second Strip.

Then repeat Second and Third Strips alternately, joining Last Strip to First Strip. Sl st across to end of 8th rnd. Join and break off (28 strips).

Now work in rnds as follows: 1st rnd: Attach thread to center d tr of any free petal, sc in same place, * ch 15, sc in center d tr of next free petal. Repeat from * around. Join. 2nd rnd: Ch 3, dc in each ch and in each sc around. Join. 3rd rnd: Ch 5, d tr in same place as sl st, * ch 23, skip 15 dc, holding back on hook the last loop of each d tr, make 2 d tr in next dc, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made). Repeat from * around. Join. 4th rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 11, sc in center ch of ch-23, ch 11, sc in next cluster. Repeat from * around. Join. 5th rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 11, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join. 6th rnd: Sl st in each ch and in next sc, sc in same place as last sl st, * ch 20, sc in sc of next point. Repeat from * around. Join. 7th rnd: Ch 3, dc in each ch and in each sc around. Join. 8th rnd: Ch 5, 6 d tr in same place as sl st, * ch 6, skip 5 dc, sc in next dc, (ch 11, skip 5 dc, sc in next dc) 5 times; ch 6, skip 5 dc, 7 d tr in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join.

9th rnd: Ch 5, d tr in next 2 d tr, * ch 3, tr in next d tr, ch 3, d tr in next 3 d tr, ch 6, sc in next ch-11 loop, (ch 11, sc in next loop) 4 times; ch 6, d tr in next 3 d tr. Repeat from * around. Join. 10th rnd: Ch 5, d tr in next 2 d tr, * (ch 3, tr in next sp) twice; ch 3, d tr in next 3 d tr, ch 6, sc in next ch-11 loop, (ch 11, sc in next loop) 3 times; ch 6, d tr in next 3 d tr. Join (58 sps). 18th rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 11, sc in center of ch-21, ch 11, sc in tip of next cluster. Repeat from * around.
