Stole of Daisies Pattern

Approximately 82 inches by 18 inches

MATERIALS — Fleisher's Melody-Glow or Bear Brand Feather-Glow "A", 3 balls for Daisies.
Fleisher's Melody or Bear Brand Featherlaine "B", 2 balls for centers and joining.
Bucilla Steel Crochet Hook, Size 6.
1 Crazy Daisy Winder, 2 ins. in diameter.

GAUGE: 1 finished daisy = 2 inches; 2 rows = 3½ inches

Make daisies with 12 double petals, following instruc­tions for using Daisy Winder, illustration C. Use A for winding and B for centers.
Make 365 daisies. Join daisies as follows:
Row 1—With B and loop on hook, work 1 sc under 2 loops at end of a petal, inserting hook from right side of daisy, with care not to twist petal loops, * ch 5, 1 sc in end of next petal; repeat from * 6 times more; do not ch 5 after 8th petal, † work 1 sc in petal of a new daisy, ch 5, 1 sc in next petal of new daisy, slip loop from hook, insert hook in sc in 7th petal of first daisy and also in loop, draw loop through sc, ** ch 5, 1 sc in next petal of new daisy; repeat from ** 5 times more. Note—Always end with sc in 8th petal of daisy, omitting ch 5 after sc in 8th petal. The 7th and 8th petals of the last daisy worked are always joined to the first and 2nd petals of the next daisy.
Repeat from † until there are 41 daisies in row for long edge of stole.

To finish row on free petals of daisies—Ch 5, 1 sc in 9th petal of last daisy, * ch 5, 1 sc in next petal; repeat from * twice, ch 5, 1 sc in joining st between last daisy and next daisy, ch 5, 1 sc in 9th petal of next daisy; continue in this way across all free petals, end with a slip st in first sc on first daisy. Fasten off.
Row 2—Daisies are joined, working from left to right. With B and loop on hook, 1 sc in a petal of a new daisy, ch 5, 1 sc in next petal, ch 5, 1 sc in 3rd petal, slip loop from hook and draw through sc in 2nd petal to the left of joining st between first 2 daisies in last row, * ch 5, 1 sc in 4th petal, slip loop from hook and join to next petal in row below, ch 5, 1 sc in 5th petal, join to first petal of next daisy after joining st in row below, ch 5,1 sc in 6th petal, join to next petal in row below, ch 5, 1 sc in 7th petal, ch 5, 1 sc in 8th petal, 1 sc in petal of a new daisy, ch 5, 1 sc in 2nd petal of new daisy, join as before to 7th petal of last daisy, ch 5, 1 sc in 3rd petal, join to next petal of row below *. Repeat between *'s until there are 40 daisies in row, end last repeat with 1 sc in 8th petal of last daisy (1 daisy decreased). Finish row on free petals as before. Fasten off.
Repeat row 2, 8 more times, decreasing 1 daisy in each row; 32 daisies in 10th row.
Pin out to given measurements and steam.
