Materials Required—AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" ZEPHYR WOOL or "DAWN" GERMANTOWN TYPE WOOL
1-2 oz. Skein Brown.
18 Yds. Rose Beige.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 4 or 5.
4 Double Pointed Knitting Needles No. 1.
Back of Left Glove. Ch 30, s d c in 3rd st from hook, (s d c, yarn over needle, insert in st and work off all loops at one time) 1 s d c in each remaining ch, ch 2, turn and work 1 s d c in each s d c ending row with an s c in 1st s d c, (top of little finger). Break yarn.
3rd Row. Join yarn in 11th s d c from top of little finger, ch 14 for next finger, 1 s d c in 3rd st from hook, 1 s d c in each remaining ch and 1 s d c in each s d c on back of glove.
4th Row. Attach Rose Beige carrying the Brown yarn underneath along row, ch 2, turn, 1 s d c in each s d c across row working 2 s d c in last s d c, drop Rose Beige.
5th Row. With Brown, ch 2, turn, skip 1 s d c, 1 s d c in each remaining s d c, break yarn.
6th Row. Attach Brown yarn in 13th st from top on side of finger just made, ch 16 for next finger and work 3 rows of s d c same as other finger working the light stripe through center of finger, break yarn.
9th Row. Attach yarn in 14th st from top of finger, ch 13 for next finger and work 3 rows of s d c same as other finger having the light stripe through center, break yarn.
Front of Glove. With Brown work first 8 rows same as back of glove working entire section in Brown.
9th Row. Ch 12, s c in 14th st from top of finger just made, 1 s c in each of the next 9 s d c on palm of glove, ch 13 for thumb.
10th Row. Turn, 1 s d c in 3rd st from hook, 1 s d c in each ch of thumb, 1 s d c in each of the next 10 s c, 1 s d c in each ch of finger.
11th Row. Ch 2, turn, 1 s d c in same space, 1 s d c in each s d c working on finger, palm of glove and thumb and increasing 1 st at end of row.
12th Row. Ch 2, turn, skip 1 s d c, 1 s d c in each st to end working an s c in end st, break yarn.
13th Row. Attach yarn in last s c at base at inside of thumb section, ch 13 for other half of thumb, turn and work 1 s d c in 3rd st from hook, 1 s d c in each remaining ch and 1 s d c in each s d c on palm of glove.
14th Row. Ch 2, turn, 1 s d c in each s d c working 2 s d c in last st.
15th Row. Ch 2, turn, skip 1 s d c, 1 s d c in each remaining st, break yarn.
With Brown on right side of glove, sew the 2 thumb sections together using an overcasting st and sewing through 1 loop of each section only. Sew back and front of glove sections together in same manner.
CUFF. Pick up on 3 needles, 36 sts around cuff and work in ribbing of K 1, P 1 for 2 inches, bind off and work other glove to correspond folding the thumb on right side of hand before sewing.
