Materials: Choose one of the following threads in Ecru or White:
Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, size 30, 4 balls.
J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 30, 3 balls.
J. & P. Coats Big Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, size 30, 2 balls.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 10 or 11.

When completed, runner measures about 21 x 10½ inches.

Gauge: 6 sps make 1 inch; 6 rows make 1 inch.

Starting at short side, make a chain to measure about 13 inches. 1st row: D c in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch (2 sps made). Repeat from * across until 63 sps are made. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn. 2nd row: D c in next d c, d c in each ch and in each d c across to within last sp (61 bls), ch 2, d c in 3rd st of turning ch. Ch 5, turn. 3rd row: Sp over sp, d c in each of next 3 d c (1 bl made), * ch 2, skip 2 d c, d c in next d c. Repeat from * across row to within last bl, bl over bl, sp over sp. Ch 5, turn. Hereafter follow chart from "A" to "Center". When work reaches center row, reverse the design, by working back from center row to 1st row. Break off.
