To begin, ch 7. 1st row: 1 d c in 7th ch from hook, * ch 1, 1 d c in same ch, and repeat from * 2 more times. Ch 5, turn. 2nd row: 4 d c with ch-1 between in ch-1 sp between 2 center d c, ch 1, 1 d c in 3rd st of ch-7, ch 5, turn. 3rd row: 4 d c with ch-1 be­tween in ch-1 sp between 2 center d c, ch 1, 7 d c with ch-1, between in ch-5 loop (thus forming a shell), turn. 4th row: Make ps and s c until 6 ps are made on shell, ch 1, 4 d c with ch-1 between in ch-1 sp between 2 center d c, ch 1, 1 d c in 3rd st of ch-5, ch 5, turn. 5th row: 4 d c with ch-1 between in ch-1 sp between 2 center d c, ch 5, turn. 6th row: 4 d c with ch-1 between in ch-1 sp between 2 center d c, ch 1, 1 d c in 3rd st of ch-5, ch 5, turn. 7th row: 4 d c with ch-1 between in ch-1 sp between 2 center d c, ch 1, 7 d c with ch-1 between in ch-5 loop, sl st to 1st p of previous shell, turn. 8th row: Make ps and s c until 6 ps are made on shell, ch 1, 4 d c with ch-1 between in ch-1 sp between 2 center d c, ch 1, 1 d c in 3rd st of ch-5, ch 5, turn.
