Plastic Crochet Hook Size J OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW
Scraps of Black and Red felt
2 Rhinestone Buttons

GAUGE: 3 sts = 1 inch

BODY SECTION: Ch 36, 1 s c in 4th ch from hook, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 s c in next ch, repeat from * across ch ending with ch 2, turn. 2nd ROW: Skip 1 st, 1 s c in next st, * ch 1, skip next st, 1 s c in next st, repeat from * ending with ch 2, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 10 inches. NEXT ROW: Place a marker in center of row, dec 1 st at beg of row, 1 st before marker, 1 st after marker and 1 st at end of row. Repeat last row 3 times, cut yarn. EARS: Ch 4. 1st ROW: 1 double loop st in 2nd ch from hook (double loop st: insert hook in st, winding yarn clockwise wind yarn twice around index finger, insert hook from left to right through both loops on finger, pick up both loops and pull through st, drop loops from finger, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook), 1 double loop st in each of next 2 chs, ch 1, turn. 2nd ROW: 2 s c in 1st st, 1 s c in next st, 2 s c in last st, ch 1, turn. 3rd ROW: 1 double loop st in each of 5 s c, ch 1, turn. 4th ROW: 2 s c in 1st st, 1 s c in each of next 3 sts, 2 s c in last st, ch 1, turn. 5th ROW: 1 double loop st in each of the 7 sts, ch 1, turn. 6th ROW: 1 s c in each s c, ch 1, turn. Repeat 5th and 6th rows 4 times, then work 5th row once, cut yarn.

FINISHING: Ch 7 loosely, join with sl st to 1st ch, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: Work 2 double loop sts in each ch, join, cut yarn. Work 3 more sections in same man­ner (1 for top of head, 1 for chin and 2 for feet). Sew side seam. Work a running st around top of head, draw together and fasten securely. Sew head and chin pieces in position. Sew ears on sides. Cut a sec­tion of red felt for tongue and 2 sections black felt for eyes. Sew tongue in place above chin section. Draw eye sections together between arrows to form circle. Sew feet in position as illus­trated. Sew buttons in center of eyes.
