Cone Button Trimmed Pin Pattern

Use J. & P. COATS or CLARK'S O.N.T. PEARL COTTON, Size 5.
One ball of any color.
Where more than one color is used, a ball of each color is required.
Follow picture for trimmings.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 6.

BUTTON-TRIMMED PIN ... Work as for first 11 rnds of Strawberry (24 sc). Sl st in next st. Ch 1, turn. 12th rnd: Working from wrong side, * make sc in next 2 sc, ch 4. Repeat from * around. 13th rnd: Sc in each sc around. Repeat the last 2 rnds once more. Break off. In­sert pin and stuff with cotton.
Top ... 1st rnd: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc. 3rd rnd: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc. Re­peat from * around. 4th rnd: * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc. Repeat from * around. Holding the 2 pieces together make a rnd of sc working through both thicknesses. Break off. Sew on buttons.
