Use J. & P. COATS or CLARK'S O.N.T. PEARL COTTON, Size 5.
One ball of any color.
Where more than one color is used, a ball of each color is required.
Follow picture for trimmings.

ROSE—Calyx ... 1st rnd: With Black ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around. 3rd to 8th rnds incl: Sc in each sc around. Insert pin through center and stuff. 9th rnd: * Work off the next 2 sc as 1 sc (a dec), sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. 10th rnd: * Work off 2 sc as 1 sc. Repeat from * around. Break off.
Rose ... With Dusty Pink, ch 4, join. 1st rnd: (Ch 3, sc in ring) 8 times. 2nd rnd: * In front loop of next sc make sc, half dc, dc, half dc and sc. Repeat from * around. 3rd rnd: * Ch 3, sc in back loop of next sc on 1st rnd. Repeat from * around. 4th rnd: In each sp make sc, half dc, 3 dc, half dc, sc. Join. Break off. Embroider 5 Yellow French knots in center. Sew Rose to Calyx.
Leaf (Make 3) ... With Green, ch 11. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, half dc in next ch, dc in next 5 ch, half dc in next ch, sc in next ch, 3 sc in next ch. Work on other side of ch-11 to correspond. Break off. Sew on Leaves.
Cut 2 pieces of veiling 1½ x 8 inches. Gather the length of veiling to fit Calyx and stitch in place.
