If GEM and RAYON CROCHET COTTON are used, work with one strand of each throughout. If POMPADOUR is used work with single strand.

DRESS: Bodice, ch 38, d c in 4th st from hook, 1 d c in each remaining st of ch, ch 3 to turn all rows.
Next 2 Rows—1 d c in each d c.
4th Row—1 d c in each of the next 5 d c, turn. Work 5 more rows even in d c, cut thread leaving a length. With wrong side of work toward you, skip 24 d c of 3rd row, attach thread in next st, ch 3 and work same as opposite side. Bring side section forward to 3rd row, leaving 6 sts free at center for neck edge and 3 sts free on both sides for armholes and sew.

SKIRT: With bodice facing downward and working on opposite side of starting ch, attach thread in 1st st, ch 5, d c in next st, * ch 2, skip 1 st, d c in next st, repeat from * across row (18 meshes, beading) ch 4, turn.
2nd Row—1 d c, ch 2, 1 d c in next mesh, * ch 1, d c in next d c, ch 1, 1 d c, ch 2, 1 d c in next mesh, repeat from * across row ending row with ch 1, skip 1 st of end loop, d c in next st, ch 4, turn.
3rd Row—* Skip 1 loop, 2 d c, ch 2, 2 d c (shell) in next ch 2 loop, ch 1, skip next ch 1 loop, shell in next d c, ch 1, repeat from * across row ending row with skip 1 st of end loop, d c in next st, ch 4, turn.
4th Row—Shell in next shell, ch 1, d c in next ch 1 loop, ch 1, repeat from beginning across row ending row with skip 1 st of last loop, d c in next st, ch 4, turn.
5th Row—* Shell in next shell, ch 1, skip next ch 1 loop, d c in next d c, ch 1, repeat from * across row ending row with skip 1 st of last loop, d c in next st, ch 4, turn. Repeat last row 10 times, cut thread.

SLEEVES: With right side of work toward you, attach thread in back of armhole, ch 3 and work 31 d c around entire armhole, join, ch 3, turn.
2nd Row—1 d c in each d c, join, ch 3, turn.
3rd Row—1 d c in each d c, join, do not turn.
4th Row—Sl st in every other st, join, cut thread.
Work other sleeve in same manner.

BONNET: Ch 6, join to form a ring, ch 3 and work 15 d c in ring, join, ch 3, turn.
2nd Row—1 d c in each d c, join, turn.
3rd Row—Ch 3, d c in same space, * 1 d c in next d c, 2 d c in next d c, repeat from * all around ending row with d c in last d c, join, do not turn.
4th Row—Work in same manner as last row, join, ch 5, turn.
5th Row—Skip 1 d c, d c in next d c, * ch 1, skip 1 d c, d c in next d c, repeat from * 11 times, ch 3, turn.
6th Row—1 d c, ch 2, 1 d c in 1st mesh, * 1 d c in next mesh, 1 d c, ch 2, 1 d c in next mesh, repeat from * 5 times, d c in 3rd st of ch of last mesh, ch 3, turn.
7th Row—Shell in next ch 2 loop, skip 1 d c, d c in next d c, repeat from beginning across row ending row with d c in 3rd st of ch, ch 3, turn.
8th Row—6 d c in next shell, skip the 2 d c of same shell, s c in next d c, repeat from beginning across row working last s c in 3rd st of ch, cut thread.

BASKET: Ch 6, join to form a ring, ch 3 and work 11 d c in ring, join, ch 3, turn.
2nd Row—D c in same space, 2 d c in each remaining st, join, ch 3, turn.
3rd Row—1 d c in next d c, 2 d c in next d c, * 1 d c in each of the next 2 d c, 2 d c in next d c, repeat from * all around, join, ch 3, turn.
4th Row—D c in same space, ch 2, 2 d c in same space, skip 1 d c, d c in next d c, * skip 1 d c, shell in next d c, skip 1 d c, d c in next d c, repeat from * all around, join in 3rd st of ch.
5th Row—* 6 d c in next shell, skip 2 d c of same shell, s c in next d c, repeat from * all around.
Next Row—Handle, ch 26, skip four 6 d c groups, sl st in next s c, * ch 4, working along ch, skip 4 sts, sl st in next st, repeat from * once, ch 5, skip 5 sts, sl st in next st, * ch 4, skip 4 sts, sl st in next st, repeat from * once, sl st in joining of previous row, cut thread.

Finishing—Place dress on doll and sew skirt and 4 rows of bodice together. Lace ribbon through beading and tie with bow. Cut 1 - 12 inch length of ribbon and lace through beading of bonnet. Place bonnet on doll's head and sew to hair. Tie ribbon as illustrated. Fill basket with flowers and slip center loop of handle on hand. Lace remainder of ribbon through beading at waist line and tie in bow.
