MATERIALS - Sultana Beauty-Glo, 2 balls.
Steel Crochet Hook, Size 6.
1 pair Slipper Soles.

GAUGE: 15 sts=2 inches

FRONT-Beg. at toe, ch 22, work 1 sc in 2nd st from hook and in each st to end; 21 sts.

Row 2-right side-Ch 1, turn, 1 sc through both loops of first st, 1 sc in back loop of each st to within 1 st of end, 1 sc through both loops of last st.

Row 3-Same as row 2.

Row 4-Ch 1, turn, 1 sc through both loops of first st, 1 sc in back loop of each of next 9 sts, 3 sc in back loop of center st - an inc., 1 sc in back loop of each of next 9 sts, 1 sc through both loops of last st; 23 sts.

Row 5-Same as row 2. Continue in this way, working through both loops of first and last st, and in back loop of all other sts, increasing 2 sts in center st every 2nd row until there are 21 rows; 39 sts.

Row 22-First Eyelet Row-Ch 4, turn, skip 2 sts, working through both loops, 1 dc in next st, * ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st *; repeat between *'s 7 times, ch 1, 1 dc in next (center) st, ch 1, 1 dc in next st; repeat between *'s 9 times.

Row 23-Ch 1, turn, working through both loops, 1 sc in each st across row, end 1 sc in each of last 2 sts of turning ch; 41 sts, Continue as before working in back loop, increasing 2 sts in center st on next row and every 2nd row until there are 29 rows; 47 sts.

Row 30-2nd Eyelet Row-Ch 4, turn, skip 2 sts, working through both loops, 1 dc in next st, * ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st *; repeat between *'s 9 times, ch 1, 1 dc in next (center) st, ch 1, 1 dc in next st; repeat between *'s 11 times.

Row 31-Same as row 23; 49 sts.

Continue as before increasing 2 sts in center st on next row and every 2nd row until there are 37 rows; 55 sts.

Row 38-3rd Eyelet Row-Ch 4, turn, skip 2 sts, 1 dc in next st, * ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st *; repeat between *'s 11 times, ch 1, 1 dc in next (center) st, ch 1, 1 dc in next st; repeat between *'s 13 times.

Row 39-Same as row 23; 57 sts.

Continue as before increasing 2 sts in center st on next row. Work 1 row even. Do not break off. Work 1 row sc evenly spaced on sides and toe, decreasing 1 st in center of toe. Fasten off.

Straps-Ch 44, work 1 sc in 2nd st from hook and in each st to end; 43 sts.

Row 2-Work same as row 2 on front of shoe. Repeat row 2, 4 times. Fasten off. Make 2.

LOOPS FOR CHAIN-Ch 15, work 1 sc in 2nd st from hook and in each st to end; 14 sts.

Row 2-Ch 1, turn, work 1 sc in each st. Work 2 more rows sc. Fasten off. Make 2.

FINISHING-Sew front of shoe to sole leaving 1 in. free at center of toe for opening. Sew one end of each strap on each side of center front as illustrated. Sew other end to sole about 1 ½ ins. from center back. Fold 1 loop around each strap and sew ends of loop together as illustrated.

Cord-With double strand, ch 37 ins. or desired length. Work 1 slip st in each st. Fasten off. Draw cord through loops, cross in back and tie around ankle.

Welt-With double strand, make ch slightly longer than required to go around edge of sole. Work 1 slip st in each st. Fasten off. Sew welt to edge of sole as illustrated.
